Hi, I'm new to the HubPages and have a question. I've searched a lot throughout the site to try to find the answer to this question before I decided to post my question here.

Can a Hub be used to write a story, potential novel, with the purpose of getting feedback and critique? I've noticed most of the hubs seem to be articles promoting something or self-help type articles. Is there a limitation on what types of things we can write about?

    Thanks,

Creative writing is fine, generally the rule is to keep it as family friendly as possible, no writing about sex, drugs, weapons, etc. unless from an educational standpoint (and even then you may have problems).

This line can be crossed, but just be aware that if you do so, you do risk having your hubs pulled and unpublished.

Apart from that, it's all good. smile

You can write about self-help and stories. There are many short story and self-help authors here. Before you write anything other than those things, Check the type of content not allowed by Adsense TOS, and create your hub based on those guidelines.

    Welcome to Hubpages.

    Welcome!

You can't write hubs with explicit adult content and hubs promoting gambling, violence and racism. If you write a hub to promote a commercial interest of yours, you are restricted to a maximum of two links to the web site in question. Other than that, you can write about anything you want.

Even if you write something wrong, you wont be banned, you will just have teh hub unbpublished.

When you click 'start a new hub' you have to enter a hub title, and choose the catagory and tags, when you press 'next' it will take you to a list of what you cannot write about!

    Fiction is fine though smile

Also a handy tip for any newbie (since I am one too), is to make sure that you don't promote with more than 2 links. Up to 2 links is allowed to reach each site link you post but no more than that! smile Welcome!
