My winter Olympics Apparel hub is getting great traffic but very little Amazon sales.   I feel people are looking for items that Amazon is not selling  .. like those red mittens or the sweaters or hats the Team USA was wearing last night during the opening ceremony. I will gladly put more products on the site but I feel people are looking for items they saw on last nights show.  Is there anything else I can do to boost my sales on this site? Will Amazon get more with it over the next couple of days and feature more up to date stuff?  suggestions always appreciated!

Well, if you'd like a different perspective, then I would have to say that the problem really isn't with your hubs. It is with your audience.

The Olympics haven't been what it used to be. The Olympics were designed for amateurs to showcase their talent, so as to break into professional sports arena/field on a global scale.

However, there are MORE professional athletes making a mockery of the Olympics, so a Nation can claim the best athletes in the world. Never mind the up and coming athletes.

There is no integrity in the Olympics any more, simply because the pros play at a different level in their respective sports. The amateurs, are all new to the highest level of competition, when bringing in on against professionals who make a living doing the sport?

Where is that a fair competition for amateurs? So, your audience isn't what it used to be. smile

Just a thought. This thread, brought out, a topic that was talked about on the radio today. I agreed with the DJ, when he said he wasn't thrilled about Pros doing what amateurs were. smile

You're getting good matches with adsense ads. Make you're first paragraph longer so you get a block along the top and a block to the right of it. If they don't see what they are looking for, they very well might click an ad. That's about all you can do.

Thanks for your help.  I am getting feedback from the people looking at my site and most are looking for the tobbagans Team USA wore last night.  I guess I will keep looking a Amazon to see if they update their merchandise..

I am missing out! Apparently Lindsey Vohn's hat is all the rage today.  Everyone is looking for it and Amazon doesn't have it.  No one  as it that I can see..  Sigh.. over 1200 views by noon and nooo sales!  That is just the way it goes I guess..

Have you considered finding a shop that sells exactly what you are hoping to sell, look if they have an affiliate program and if so sign up? You can then ad a text link with affiliate url that your readers could click to find that must have item.

On a hub of mine recently a reader asked if I knew where to get self designed laptop skins (was a hub on these items). I found a site that does just that and had an affiliate program, after a few teething problems with the link (not for a link capsule but had to do it in a text capsule and highlight the text to make into a hyperlink) I have an affiliate link up for that service and hopefully if people like the idea they will go ahead and make  me some money big_smile

Kirstenblog.. good idea.. I just sent out some emails to see if it could be done.  But it still doesn't solve the problem totally because the clothing items seemn to be sold out!

Casgil..yes the Olympics is overly promotional.. but that was what my hub was about.. Olympic merchandise..

My hub just jumped by 100 views in a matter of minutes. now over 1300 for the day's total.. and nothing that anyone wants to buy!!

It is frustrating and all I can do is whine about it smile.  Truth be told if these items were not sold out I would probabaly not have that many hits on my site.  The buyer would have just bought the item on the first site they landed on.. so maybe I should be thankful for that...

If you can find a good outside affiliate you could make a killing! How cool would it be if you are the easiest way to find this stuff wink
