OK so I'm new at this, so I don't understand jargon like "back-link" and stuff. If you're going to advise me (thank you!!!) that I need back-links please explain what that is, m'ok?

Thanks in advance for your help
:-)
Anita
Maybe the problem is that this hub is very similar to the one here:http://www.acap.edu.au/PDF/GoodThinkingArticle.pdf
Now that is maybe you who authored it; that was also written by an Anita.
But it still counts as duplicate content as far as Hubpages is concerned.
Consider re-writing the parts that are similar and the individual hub score should go up
I just saw your hub...wow..that's pretty impressive for a beginner!!! I'll try to find a thread on backlinks that was going on here lately.
Meanwhile, welcome here! I'm sure you'll do very well...
Thank you! I'm a bit of a perfectionist, I like it to look nice ;-)
Now I'm interested in how to make it functional and profitable too - it took a long time to research and write.
Anita, are you the same person who wrote the PDF? perhaps you should read it if you are not. It was published 2006, I believe.
http://www.acap.edu.au/PDF/GoodThinkingArticle.pdf
That's the link. You may want to compare if you are refurbishing an article you wrote before that is allowed, but you may have to change it up a bit.
Thanks Fay, they have published that without permission. I have requested they remove it and link to the hub instead. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I had no idea it was there.
The score (I think thats what you mean?) almost always starts to at 49 or 50.
it goes up after a while, dont worry.

http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/35761
both have great info! It's good to be a perfectionist...best of luck with everything!
I just noticed that Hubpages made changes to forum. Now forum URL's are nofollow, so no link juice.
do you mean Id?
http://hubpages.com/faq/#amazon
have you followed these steps?
You mean amazon affiliate code ? Follow the steps :
http://hubpages.com/faq/#amazon
You need to register to get code.
Thanks I didn't click on the right part and got all messed up. I'll get it right this time.
I registered for Amazon years ago when i could write my own user name. Now they give a generated number followed by a dash with 2 digits. Mine doesn't look like that. I'm worried b/c the affiliate wizard gave me a warning that my amazon code doesn't look right. Sigh
Just in this forum (the Extreme Hub Makeover forum). That's why this is the only place you're allowed to post links to your own hubs.
My link didn't work because I forgot to leave a space between the : and the http.
No worries, can still copy/paste.
I'm convinced Anita wrote the original anyway
Thanks Izzy, yes the article is mine. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I didn't know they had published it online (without permission mind you).
I have found that those hubs I write but do not publish straight away can climb in score unpublished. I have one sitting there with virtually no text yet it hit a score of 70 this morning! I kinda would love to have it be at like 80 at the time of it being published even tho I bet that isn't actually possible but if it were... wow how cool would that be
ooooooooohhhhhh now there's a good tip! LOL
Look that is no reflection on you, I looked at your hub and its excellent, it has a good length, great graphics, and sectioned for easy reading. Fantastic format. When published they never give me, more than a 51 and it is very discouraging at times, but guess what , my scores surge up to in 80 sometimes, in less than a day. I saw that right now you have score of seventy for your article, so you are already moving up. So keep up the good work Anita, before you know it you will have your 100 score hub.

Who thinks we should ask to reinstate a page dedicated to locating hubbers by hubber score. Beginning with 100-0.We once had such a page here that made the hubber score much more relevant, and we could at least get a chance to locate the top hubbers who most definitely deserved high praise for...

Last night, I published my first hub and I am waiting to see if it will be featured or not. I see that about 20 hours after publishing, my hub has recieved 10 views and a score of 52. Is that score good? I made my article attractive with 3 photos properly credited, a poll, a quiz and of course...

This forum is a place for you to post hubs that you think are clearly of low quality and need flagging. Committed hubbers should follow this forum and check these hubs posted for quality when they have the time. If a hub has been clearly copied (for example from a PDF file that the plagiarism...

All new hubs start at 50. Sometimes they will go down a little before they go back up. Don't worry about the score yet if it is a new hub.
