Jimmy I discovered if you go to copyscape.com and enter any url it will search the web for duplicate content on any thing on the url's site (I guess it crawls it?) its free to do this and has the feel of a Google search. A great way to catch a thief...

That has got to be the ugliest site I have ever seen. I couldn't even get through articles.

I hope you reported him to Google, especially since he is on Blogger and 90% of his page is Adsense ads.

Ive given up using these 2 links- I get told to file some fax complaint (no email accepted) - I live in another country - it costs me money to send a fax -  so Ive never bothered assuming that any system based on paper won't get to my little complaint anyway - has anyone found otherwise?

Instead  I include a link to my own site with the first few lines of my blog - so that if anyone srapes - I will probably still get the link back - yes they are  that stupid!

It  seems that hubpages has become a prime site for theft and scraping! I am not sure if this a compliment or not.

Good for you, Jimmy.  The one time I had to deal with this, I found that tactic to be most effective.  It produces panic and quick results.  If anyone else if having this problem, they may want to do the same thing.

actually we took the guy out back and beat him senselessly with a real webpage (strong content), he tried to fire back but his weak (stolen) page was no match for the original site. Police are baffled : lol :

I got my grammatical hub about spelling "bachelor's degree" hub ripped off.  I'm kind of pissed to be honest.  I was checking it out and there's some german site that has managed to conscript my hub on search engines and when you click it, you just get this list of links to generic, lame-ass online degree crap.  I was front page like six ways of typing the question before.  I know it's a boring topic, just grammar and usage, but, I was getting great traffic off it and now some a-hole figured out how to yank me off the front page with lameness that sends searches to nothing but avarice and greed sites.  I'm really pissed.  At least mine is useful to people who search it wanting to know how to write that crap.  This german site is giving NOTHING but sales pitch garbage.  Money based information systems are ultimately going to discredit themselves and people will go back to books.

Which keywords shadesbreath - you are 3rd in Oz for "how to spell bachelors degree" (without quotes) behine wikianswers and an edu site - that's pretty good.  The problem will be that the crap site has got good links - pm me the  problem sites url and I will tell u what his links are  - then you just have to out link him!

Ranks bounce around a lot for the first few days of a new site: it takes months for a ranking to stabilize! If we knew how it worked we would all be mega-billionaires!

I am new here. I understand this discussion is about someone's essay being stolen, or reproduced elsewhere without permission. I once suggested employing "copyscape" icons on Hub Pages if possible. If not, to explore the possibility of enabling this action.
