Friends,
From yesterday only I am active on the forums, both replying and asking helps. But now my user rating has improved to 80. Is it because of the traffic or forum participation?
till the day before yesterday my user rating was 68. Of course I made two more hubs where some good number of ( Around 150 views a day for an adsense hub )
BH!
it sounds like your recent hubs gave you a nice boost with traffic. active participation in the community will help, not sure if forum necessarily boosts the score, but it may have helped with views also. good for you.
many hubbers never participate in the forums with very high scores.
btw, it's best not to start a thread with a link to your hub unless it's in the extreme hub makeover. forum rules.
Edit the links out if you are sorry. You can delete the links on your other forum posts too, so you don't get in trouble for violating terms.
It seems as though one's profile rating goes up the more you participate by adding comments on hubs, and various forum posts, and gaining more fans and followers. Individual hub scores seem to reflect the number of views they receive.
Of course these scores are only relative within Hubpages, and nothing to be too concerned about.
yeah, thats very true.. these scores are 'just inside hubpages'
Answering questions also increases your hubber score, but that's why they go up and down a lot.
yeah, that's true i think. My status is dancing 78-80-82 and so as the hubs (that's because of the traffic right?)
As relache said it's a combination of all the factors, the number of hubs you write, the number of views, the number of posts on the forum, the number of questions you answer, the number of followers. HP does some sort of algorithm and that's how they come up with your hubscore. However, Marisa Wright has said before on these forums that the traffic you get out of hubpages is more important because those are the folks who click on your hub ads. Attracting that kind of traffic is what's really important.
Yeah its a lot of factors, including forum participation, hub traffic, and so on. I wouldn't worry about it too much though, it evolves really quickly if you provide quality content and help people out.
I really does help I believe. I was really active two weeks ago, regardless of new hubs. My score stayed around 90-92. Now, I've been busy and it dropped to 84 though I have even more traffic than usual. ]
Being active in the forums, does get you noticed which in turn can get you INTERNAL traffic and hence raise the score. Though I do feel that just posting on 'Last one to post' thread is different from more quality posts where you actually take the time and effort to help or answer questions.
Having said that, I should add that you can even lose fans (and ratings) too if you're active in picking fights in the forums, rather than a positive contribution!
Steady external traffic on the other hand, eliminates the need for too much activity on the forums altogether!

Is it a trend or is it being initiated by HP? Just curious.

As some of you may have noticed ads show up on articles, the answer section and the forums. Great, the more ads the more that we can possibly earn. But I am still having a problem with the hubber (profile) score. Since any links that appear on a hub are no follow if the profile score is below 85,...

I've come to the conclusion that in order to get people to even look at your hubs, you must post in these forums. It may help get a few more fans, but if it doesn't, what have you lost. I've come here to hubber's hangout to see if anybody will become curious about my writing. I'm guessing I'm not...

I've read in several places on the forums that I don't need to worry about my HP author rating because it fluctuates all the time, but mine just seems to be dropping. I'm now at 5. I'm unsure why this is all of my hubs seem to be gradually going up rating-wise. Halp!I'm also totally lost when it...
