I've established backlinks on at least half a dozen sites for at least half a dozen of my articles

I've been featured in the hubnugget thing twice in my less than one month presence on this site

    But guess what?

Total Adsense Earnings: Less than $5

    Total Views: Less than 1000

    hmm

Is this undeniable evidence that hubnugget nominations truly don't mean much? At first I was flattered. But regardless, I'm still thankful for it.

I think I got less than 100 views for being a nominee last time, no joke

My hubnugget hub got 42% of the votes. Nevertheless, it and my other hubs are only gaining 0-2 views per day on average. I have backlinked from a blog, used Shetoldme, Snipsly, Digg, Stumble, 411article, addblogurl, folkd, xomba, pingates, pingler. None of these have made any difference to overall views. My CTR is slightly above <snipped - disclosing CTR is a violation of AdSense TOS> and my total earnings are approx. $5.

I know I am the one at fault. However, I have read many tens of hubs on SEO and backlinking. I've used the Google Keyword tool to find what I think are useful search. Nothing has made a difference so far. I am at a total loss.

I've been thinking that maybe some of the more successful hubbers here could offer a paid service. $x per hub to review what should be done to make it more successful. I for one would be happy to pay for some real advice.

They would be dumb to give you any real advice, that would take away from their earning potential... (asking the other team how to beat them rarely works)... wink

But if my hubs promote other topics than theirs, surely that would not be threat...

If your hub earns from a finite source, a source they are trying to earn from, then you and they are in competition for that finite source of earning(money).
If you have a hub that earns, that means they are not earning the money you have earned...

I only looked at a couple. You have very few words. maybe some are longer. I have come to understand longer is better. Take for example, want ads. a 1/4 space does not get the attention of a full space, and a full space less attention than a full page.

Adsense pays by impressions, if the page is too short, no impressions. I am told over 800 words is good, but 1500 words is optimum. good luck. I have made $1.22.

It does take time to make money however do not give up, read hubs from Relache, Darkside, Sunforged on how to make money with Google Adsense this will also help you understand the system.smile

    I understand Adsense pretty well

@ Faybe, most of the profits from Adsense are derived from actual clicks. Page impressions would pay fractions of pennies

I am sure you understand much better than I. I took a look at your latest hub, it has 4 google based ads. My latest has nine. But then mine has more of a word count which I have been told does matter. Also, if you break your content up into two capsules they place ads between capsules. Three capsules=more ads.
Again, I do not make money, yet. However more ads would in my opinion give more opportunity for clicks.

If you just concentrate on results from adsense then there is no fun. Fact about adsense is clicks are random, you can't predict that every visitor you get will click adsense. So don't push it too hard thinking about what promotion method is good or bad within hubpages. Hubnugget/Hubmob brings lot of internal links/traffic and maybe some people can give backlink to your blog from outside hubpages if not clicks on page. So think like this "no traffic is waste".

In stats page of your account, you'll see that sometimes google, hubpages source shows negative count like -10, -2 etc.
