The url is the address you'll find at the top of your browser. It looks something like this, http://hubpages.com/hub/the-title-of-the-topic.

So when I'm on my own page, my url is at the top, I thought this was just for the site, not my own sort of i.d.
        Have I understood you correctly?
Many thanks for taking the time to help me,
        Best regards,Mike

      Are you applying for Adsense?

If so, then your URL would be: http://hubpages.com/profile/boxermike7

I would recommend writing a few more hubs before applying for Adsense. While you can get accepted for the program with only 1 hub, its better if you write 10 hubs before applying.

I will also recommend searching the term SEO on Google and reading about it for making the most out of your hubs.

          Hi,
I appreciate your enthusiam. Most of the people of your page are not interested in learning techno savvy things. I would like to throw some more light to your question.

When you look in the browser you see the address of that vary web page. It includes the main page URL such as http://hubpages.com followed by the page address.

If you copy the complete address and paste it anywhere it will take you to the same page. If you copy only the previous part it will take you to the main or home page.

          Hope it is clear now.

          Thanks,
          Jyoti Kothari

A URL, Uniform Resource Locator, is the address on the Internet of a web page. This forum post has a URL address of:

http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/post/37318 as viewed in the address bar up top.

Just as every house has an address so you can find it, every web page also has an address. While most web sites opt to buy a domain name since words are easier to remember than numbers, a valid URL can also contain an IP address in place of a domain name. i.e. http://127.0.0.1/

What do you need to provide a URL for, AdSense? I believe if your signing up for AdSense to use on HubPages you use the URL to your profile. I'm not positive though since I already had a AdSense account when I came here.

I thank you for a quick reply, I will read and digest this info, see if I am bright enough to act on it (yes it was adsense, I was advised to join)
I am very grateful for your reply and help.
      Best regards,Mike.
