I have been here for 4 months and enjoy writing and reading other hubs but i only have 5 followers. Ok my stuff is a bit heavy but what do i need to do to attract readers and feedback?

In a nutshell - participate in the HP community. I'm not suggesting become noisy in the forum but sitting quiet, all back of the bus won't help you get noticed by those around you.

Become a little more visible. There are some genuinely lovely, friendly people of HP. I'm sure you'll find like minded hubbers sooner or later smile

I agree with Frog.  In one evening of playing around in the forums, I've gotten as many as 5 followers.  People get to know you, maybe can get a feel for your personality through your comments and will then go to your stories to hear more.  And, I'm not talking about putting together all kinds of thought provoking comments or intellectual discussions.  I'm talking about really just bantering back and forth with fellow hubbers.  In fact, when my "follwers" number was stuck at 69 I had more than enough people who wanted to help me get off of that number. lol  I also have advertised my stuff on my profile page of facebook and through emails.  In addition, I use a ton of search/tag words.

when you click on "reply", the text box comes up....look in the lower right of the box, it says "formatting tips".  click on that and it shows you how to insert cool cool stuff like this.  then, before submitting, "preview" it first to be sure it works or looks right, otherwise, it just looks stupid big_smile

Mine always look stupid. Safari just does not seem to want to participate in the formatting.

Seems to me with the kind of knowledge you possess you could definitely do well in the forums. Find the appropriate subjects that suit your interests, then start posting and even begin your own threads.

I agree with the others, getting involved in the forum and getting yourself seen will do wonders for your following. Also commenting on work you enjoy reading, will help others know your around and they may just pop in and have a look at your work also. Keep writing and give it time, it will come. wink
