If anybody out there uses Snipsly, they have disabled their tags and track-backs because of abuse.
I e-mailed them after I couldn't get either field to come up and they quickly (within 30 minutes I think) e-mailed me back explaining the situation.
So if you can't get those fields to work, it's not you!
Thirty minute turn around time on an e-mail is not too shabby.
They may have disabled two features I like, but they get a lot of points for customer service!

Thanks for the info sabreblade.  Do you know how the tags were being abused?  Was it people using inappropriate tags?

From what they said in the e-mail, it was because of Spammers.

But get this...they sent me a follow up e-mail asking how I heard about Snipsly and asking how I liked their service.
I've never seen Xomba or She Told Me do that.

More customer service points to them!

I stopped using Snipsly for a few weeks. They were having server problems and I had too many problems trying to access it.

Their customer service is great. I e-mailed them about graphics that were not posting correctly. They got back to me in less than 1/2 hour then, too. smile
I've also had great response from SheToldMe. I had a problem with my account a while back and James was all over it for me.

I don't think I have ever had to e-mail She Told Me for anything, but that's good to know.

I am waiting for Snipsly to grow before I start using it, I do like to hear nice thing about websites though, since normally people only ever take time to cmoplain (one god review can be worth ten bad ones!)

When I tried to go onto Snipsly this afternoon the anti-virus software stopped me and flashed up a warning page, saying that the site was dangerous, known for phishing etc.

I use Snipsly a fair bit and this is the first time this as happened - has anyone else had a similar warning or experienced problems with Snipsly today?

I just went on to check it and nothing happened. I use firefox.
I have some of my stuff there, but I haven't had too many recent views from that site.

if anyone knows anything else about what's going on there, it would be nice to know. thanks.

    I don't run anti-virus, so I can't speak for that.

I went ahead and published two of them, one in Safari and one in FireFox. Safari worked better than it normally does over there. FireFox was very buggy though.

There is deff something funky. The log in page is messed up - after I signed in, the page did not update. The "SIGN UP" button didn't go away, and none of the features appeared that usually do once you log in. It did let me publish though.

This site has never behaved perfectly for me though, from any platform.

    smile

Thanks for the feedback - I haven't dared go on since the flashing red lights page!  I know they had trouble with their tags and disabled them, but the tag feature was back earlier in the week although it was really slow.

Will try getting back onto Snipsly tomorrow and see if AVG goes into overdrive again!

It may have been hacked, in which case I would wate a few days before using it. Worpress is susceptable to hackers which allow people to register, I have had a website infested with malware on wordpress, and if that is the case, a lot of peoples content created for backlinks on snipsly will be de-indexed for some time.
