A few weeks ago I noticed the page hits count on my non fiction story went way up on the number of daily page views. Infact, that was and still is my most read story. However, the total number of overall views on that story do not add up. The total number is not changing to match up with the daily number of views. Anyone know why this is happening?
I am not sure why that is happening, I cannot get the numbers to match on other things either, my traffic sources are way out on what my referal trackers suggest.
From what I have read Google Analytics is the most accurate way to track your views etc. You will be able to find a hub that explains how that works, or look under the help button or visit the learning centre if you do not already have it set up for advice how to get started on it.
Hope that is useful, others will no doubt answer your question soon probably better than my attempt at explaining things.
Hi Susan, it's because the day stats are over a rolling 24 hour period, not a static 24 hours. Google analytics is really the best way to keep track of accurate stats. The HubPage stats are just a guide.

Since I migrated here from Squidoo two months ago, I've seen a steady stream of threads in this forum, complaining about lost page views. There are a lot of theories about why it's happening, and how much it's happening, and what can be done to get into Google's good graces.Google is not my #1...

Today I have S(tats)P(age)D(epression) in a big way. Thirty-seven down arrows. Three up arrows. I’m trying to figure out how to handle this low blow to my ego. Why, oh why, couldn’t the stats get stuck on the up numbers instead of the down ones. Google analytics...

I have never been quite certain whether the views within subdomain count as page views for HP ad program.

For the past 48 hours,, my total views (as shown on my account summary) are decreasing, then increasing, then decreasing again. Yesterday I watched the daily view go from 309 to 263 then back to 300.; How does this affect income and when will the counts be reliable again?

Do total views = Page views + Slideshow views ? or do they only count as one?I have 2208 hits today but also 1222 slideshow views, so do I essentially have 3430 hits? or does it not work that way, are slideshow views infact already counted within the page views but simply to show how they have...
