One of my hubs has gotten a lot of comments to the point where it seemed like clutter. So I went into the comments capsule and limited the number of displayed comments. Now, if I get a new comment, it doesn't show up. Which seems rude to the commenter.
Generally if it seems rude...... it is likely to be taken that way. If you would prefer not to accept genuine comments.. then perhaps it may be best to merely not include a comments capsule on your hubs in the first place
Remember what seems like clutter to you may be the one thing that sells your work to others.
In the interim it would not be rude posting a notice to future readers explaining it.
If you change the order of the comments, so that the newest is listed first, you can limit the number of comments and display those that are more recent.
When a hub generates a large number of comments, they usually make for interesting reading. Lately I've been spending more time reading hubs than in the forums. And I find that I return to some interesting hubs more than once to keep up with the comments. So I say leave them all up.
Nelle, you're right about that, on certain hubs. When people get into an interesting discussion, or leave comments that add to the hub but a lot of mine seem to be a lot of the same thing over and over again.
I have a Hub that's got over 500 comments, but the focus of the comment capsule is Q&A with visitors, with me answering their questions. I have it set to show 50 comments because it's apparent that readers aren't reading each others questions, they all just want to ask their own.
I also think that the Hub loads faster not showing all 500+.

I know we used to able to delete the comments capsule, but I can't find the delete button. Can we not anymore? I posted a Hub and don't want comments on this particular Hub. Any help would be appreciated!

What are the potentially cons of not using a comment box?I'm tired of answering the same questions over and over again. I'm tired of getting rude comments. I'm tired of dealing with it basically. I want to help people, but answering the same question over and over again or having to defend myself...

For the past few days some of the comments that I've made on my hubs and some of the comments from visitors to my hubs have posted two or even three times. I've seen double posts in the comments section of other people's hubs, too. When I'm making the comment I know that I haven't clicked the...
