Sorry for sounding ignorant. I've been trying to upload pics on my hubs and it will not accept my pics. The message that I'm seeing right now is this:

'You cannot upload a total of more than 48M at once, and each image must be smaller than 40M.'

What does this mean? I've been doing the same thing, getting the same kind of screen shots and saving them in the same way. This is the first time I got this message.

emievil, I believe that the pic size is not to be larger than 40 megabytes, which is a very large image, and the maximum download size for the picture. Maybe it is a glitch? Or is the picture that big?

actually, the pictures' sizes are the same ones I used. One is only as big as our avatar. Don't know if it's a glitch but I guess I'll have to make do without the pics.

If it is only a screen shot you possibly may have saved the image in a format that Hubpages will not accept. The best is jpg or png
        Hope this works cool

I've been getting that message on several occasions. And my file sizes were no larger than 5kb.

I just kept retrying until it worked.

I've been having the same problem - it seems to be a glitch but anyway, I went under properties of the photo and managed to compress it slightly - it accepted them afterwards - try doing that if you have the photo on your desktop.

If your pic is that big, you can change it's size without losing any of it to quality or size by converting it. You can find a free picture resizer at snapfiles.com in the freeware section.

It's definitely a bug on HPs end. I had it happen more times than I care to remember earlier today when I had to upload images to 12 individual photo capsules.

LOL, so this is your message UH. smile I just saw my statistics. It's been almost a month since I wrote my last hub sad. Tax busy season is killing my hub activities. Oh well.

Sorry for the late reply. Just went online.

DS, I finally posted my pics last night. Some I resized but most of them I saved using high compression (jpeg files). I'm just glad they worked although the quality unfortunately, is not that good.

I'm getting the same message, it is maybe a bug...I opened paint and resized the image from 100% to 99%, saved and uploaded and it worked!

    hope this will be fixed

sometimes its not only the size of the pic but also whether there are too many layers in it (if you worked on it in a photo program this happens)  when you save it again and/or change the size of it that eliminates all the layering and the file does not use as many megabytes.

ive gotten that message before and all i did was lower the amount i uploaded at one time and it worked

basically if you have 20 pics you want to use do it in 3-5 increments ...
