LEAVING HUBPAGES

I have recently been in hospital and I notice since I have been back my Author Score has dropped to 78. I am sorry to have to say that I have decided to leave Hubpages because I am going to concentrate on my poetry as I don't seem to have what it takes to get the hubpages traffic that others get as I can't keep up the production of hubs due to ill health issues.

I would however like to thank everyone who has been both a friend and fan and those who have encouraged me to keep going. I do appreciate all of these gestures more than you know.

I also wish everyone all the best with their ongoing futures with hubpages and if anyone wishes to keep in touch with me I would be more than happy to hear from you.

It does sadden me to have to do this, as it was here that I learned that I had a talent for writing and I would like to also thank Hubpages for giving me this opportunity to learn this. Thank you for all of the help you gave me also for your part in this, because if I had not joined Hubpages, I would not have known that I had this yet untapped talent.

I think that is all I have to say except goodbye to all of you and thanks again for this journey that I have had with Hubpages.

love and God bless to all  Beautybabe.

Beautybabe, good to hear that you back from the hospital. Whatever that happens, just know that we are all solidly behind you.
However, leaving hubpages because of the drop in authur score is to me not a genuine reason.
what you should be bothered about is the amount of traffic that comes from search engine and the earnings of your hubs.
      Cheers!

Why don't you leave your hubs up? They might make you some money down the line. Your hubscore doesn't matter so long as it is above 75 as it is when it drops below that visitors will find it harder to find them.
I am so sorry to see you go, Beautybabe, and I hope everything went well in hospital.
      Whatever you do, God Bless.

You don't have to close your account!  Why completely close the door?  We value eveyone in the community and there really isn't a reason why you can't just pop back from time to time?

I hope you don't leave and that you reconsider x

There is no reason for you to leave and there is no pace you have to keep up with.  You write when and if you feel like writing and you write whatever you feel like writing.  Your score is not a reflection of your talent. I'm not sure what it's a reflection of. I've seen people here that have scores in the high 80's and 90's that have only 1 hub they wrote a year ago.  Don't let that score be a basis of your worth to this community.

    Hi beauty,
you will be missed by a lot of people here and i am 1 of those people.
you have some great hubs there and I am sure your score will rise again.
please reconsider because as i said in an earlier post Hub score does not matter so long as you still get visitors from search engines.
post a couple of comments in some hubs and in the forums, write a hub or 2 and your score will go up as quickly as it dropped.
get well soon my thoughts and prayers are with you.....jimmy

If you're leaving because your HubScore drops (yet is still above 75) then perhaps HubPages is not for you.

Perhaps I didn't express myself very well.
I am not leaving because of the score dropping, but mainly because I can't keep up the pace that I was at before because of the problems with my health.
I love writing on hubs, that is not the issue, it is mainly my health.
My score is 78 now, so the traffic is very slow at the moment, and I don't know what to do to get it back up there. The disease I have affects my brain, in that I cant get clear messages to my brain on how to handle things. I need to be constantly reminded of just the simplest of things, because as soon as I am told them I forget them just as quickly.
So you see, it isn't a case of just being worried about the hubscore, but of how to do things and being able to comprehend them.

For someone who is very intelligent and smart usually this is a most frustrating thing as you can imagine. I have being like this and this is my reason for saying what I have about leaving not so much a low score as such.

I  do appreciate all of you asking me to remain, and I have not decided to go fully just yet, I will remain for now, and see how things go with regard to what I have just now said to you.
Thank you again all of you for caring so much for me and my future on Hubs, it is truly touching and deeply appreciated. BB

BB, you have it back to front.  Having a higher Hubscore doesn't bring more traffic.  Having more traffic brings you a higher Hubscore.

    BB:
    May I suggest to you,
Your brain will benefit if you hang out and write. Give it a good workout from time to time. Exercise (yes, even mental exercise) does a body good.
Writing is a great way to fight back against your disease.

      YES! I second this.

I can only imagine that this must be a scary and uncertain time for you. But Hubpages is full of so many supportive people ready to listen and support you, and it can't hurt to keep writing! It seems that so many people feel your presence here--and you seem like such a kind, brave soul--I encourage you to stay with us as long as you can. Stay connected.

      Be well. smile

Hi, even though we are just meeting for the first time, I would also like to encourage you to stay and keep writing. I have cognitive issues which can unexpected flare up along with my other MS symptoms. It is a known fact that keeping mentally active can help with such problems. You can write a little at a time and save the hubs until they are completed, then you can publish them. Sorry to read of your problems and I know they can make you feel like quitting, but I hope you don't.

    Take care!

I can understand your frustration.  For me, it was, and still is, constant brain-nastics to maintain my ability to retain thoughts in my short term memory.  It's difficult, and to keep a fast pace is difficult to do.  However, the brain-nastics that I do through writing and other mediums helps.  I hope that you stay, as writing on HP is as at a pace that is set by you.

You must do what you must BB, but you will be missed if you choose to go altogether.  If you stay, and pop in a spell every so often, it would please me.  Either way, I wish you good health and peace. ((hugs))

BB I am so glad you decided to stick it out a little while longer and see how it goes. Reading and writing, interacting when you can in forums, these will help you s lot i am sure. The mind is such an amazing tool.

The internet can be a great way to keep your hands and mind busy. I am here and you can write me whenever you wish, I am sure that goes for all of us. So if it is a private word you need, everyone will be there for you that way as well. My prayers are added to these well wishers. I am glad we found each other.

A one off thread by a fairly new user is understandable.

It's when they flounce again and again and again (repeat ad nauseam) that it gets old.

Anyways BB I just fanned you and read one or two of your hubs which I really liked and rated them up.

Glad you're staying. Do what you can, when you can. Don't worry about the darn Hubber Score. Only matters if you're here for the backlinks anyways.

I have been writing here for 3 months. I just found you here and now I will be reading your hubs. It doesn't matter how old your hubs get, or what your score is newbies and others can learn from them and they can still make you money even if its not much.

My wife has short term memory issues as well, at least on her "bad" days, and that's one of the reasons she decided not to attempt working on computer keyboards.  There's no need to feel any particular level of production as a "necessity", though--I once absented myself from ACTIVITY on HP for 10 months and ended up getting my first check for it.

Like others have said, though:  Best wishes however you need to handle it. big_smile

Hubdoes not control your traffic, unfortunately poetry will never bring in a huge amount of traffic where ever you write!

I am very deeply touched by the loyalty expressed by all of you. I can assure you I am not seeking attention and if anyone thinks this then they don't know me at all, or as well as they think they did.

I gave my reasons earlier for wanting to leave. The hubscore isn't a factor really I just mentiond that because I could not understand why it went down so far.
However, my health is the reason that I found it hard to be loyal to hubpages regularly. I really don't give a dam about the score.
I have loved writing for HP's and I feel indebited to the site because this is where I discovered that I did have a talent, a talent that I have tapped into because I can't perform on the stage and sing and dance anymore, which is something I loved with a passion.
I have found great joy writing my poems and have already joined a couple of places to write my poems.
I have not or never will forget any of the people whom I have met on HP's, the friendships I have made, the kindness that has been shown to me during this difficult time, will always be a very big part of my life, as you already have been from day one when I first met most of you.
I am so lucky to have such wonderful allies at this website, you are almost like family to me, even the ones I haven't really got to know yet. Your expressions of friendship, kindness compassion and even love, have been truly noted and I wanted you to know that I will stay around, because you have all made me see it would be a mistake to fly the coup so to speak.
I need to stay near the ones I love and the ones who love me.

So thank you to all of you, who have given me back a reason for staying with the Hubpages Family Unit, I love you all. Beautybabe. xxxxxxxx

BEAUTYBABE, You say you can't keep up with the pace and you want to leave HubPages because of your health issues. You also said you have decided to leave HubPages to concentrate on your poetry.  If I may offer a suggestion, why not write some of your poetry here on HP and why not write about your health issues and how that is affecting you. Write hubs on that. People will want to read it. I am sure there are others who have similar health issues and will relate to your hubs. And you may even find close ties with other people suffering from the same thing. Sharing in that way can be a win-win for everyone, you and your readers. By writing in this way I think the feeling of difficulty keeping up with the pace will diminish and you may find the strength and power I know you have inside of you.
