Someone riped off part of my hub, published it here and added a link to my blog. Here is the link to the hub

<issue with this hub has been addressed, link snipped>

should i report this to hubpages?

If they copied such a small amount of text and included a link to your blog, I wouldn't be complaining - you've just got yourself a free backlink.

Thanks Marisa. I was just worried about the person's hubscore and the aurhor score considering the time the person registered.

I came across it while trying to see the number of backlinks my blog has got. i use http://popuri.us/ to check it. then click on the yahoo backlink option. you will see all the incomming links to your blog/site, both dofolow and nofolow

    yes definitely.

under "my account", there is a section titled "Your Hubs", and an option called "Copied Hubs", which you can click to see if any of your hubs have been copied (i am assuming only at Hubpages though).

I don't see a section titles "Your Hubs".  What other options are in that section?

I don't have a "copied hubs" category.  Are you sure?  Weird...  If you have a link, I wouldn't report.

It's already been explained that there isn't a reason for reporting it Wordscribe. They provide a link to his blog or hub. It's a free backlink. smile

chinweikeposted 14 years agoin reply to this

i was also thinking in that line. But how come it didn't come out in mine?

Maybe not enough of your hub was copied to register/active it?

Who knows? I guess that would be a question best asked to the people who might know- HubPages Staff.

          Just a thought. smile

    Yes, mine says:

    Boost Hubber Score 10 Points

Anyway, the copied hub button must be something you get when you have over a certain amount of hubs, maybe 100?

Back to the OP, I would definately flag the hub that copied your content, jsut because they paste a link to you doesn't mean that they can duplicate your content and devalue it.

One link is not worth several paragraphs of text.

chinweikeposted 14 years agoin reply to this

I thought about this for a momment before posting this thread.

    2. Marisa Wright profile image85
Marisa Wrightposted 14 years agoin reply to this

The thing is, Oli, it's not several paragraphs of text.  It's a pretty short Hub, or it looked like it to me.

      1. chinweike profile image58
chinweikeposted 14 years agoin reply to this

There you go Marisa, wouldn't the hub be flagged for being way too short and starting the hub with a non-English language?

  11. chinweike profile image58
    chinweikeposted 14 years ago

Am flagging it for two reasons:
    (1) It violates the language aspect of the TOS
    (2) It is way too short

    Or what do you think?

  12. thisisoli profile image70
    thisisoliposted 14 years ago

I just don't agree with stealing content, about a paragraph at most with a link I would accept, but anything moer would annoy me, unless it was some massively high PR site.

    1. chinweike profile image58
chinweikeposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Yeah. And beside that, he also violates the language aspect of the TOS
