You can be such an utter doll.  It's nice to know I was missed.  Happy holidayz to you too, Cory.  Thank you for the welcome back thread.  smile

I'm surprised I noticed this.  I don't think they had this forum thing up when I took my sabatical.

If only we could use "A Wrinkle in Time" to go backwardz, eh?

You see, my friend, much is changed.  We went from rallying for the sparrows (well, I was actually an onlooker to the parade, but throwing confetti) to stunned silence and then...

    Dear One:

I'm glad that we have spoken the utopian flightplan of sparrows.  When I recall some of the most glorious moments of my life, like playing under the lilac bush in my grandmother's front yard, songs of sparrows fill my memories.

I feel that the revolution can mean not obliterating the wealthy, but empowering the needy, and enriching their worlds with the scent of lilacs and songs of sparrows...

How beautiful to find a visionary who can help make this so... and the world ripe for poetry...

    Love,
    C.

you're much more of a pacifist than I and I have to admire that in you.

I'm still working on pacifism, which I admire, but still kind of stuck in the 'obliterating the rich' part, but I'm improving.  now I'm more for 're-educating the rich in forced labor camps'.  hehehe

perhaps a new and improved Frozen Sparrow Revolution will aid me in pacifistic enlightenment.  one can hope. :p

the good news is... our freedom fighterz are returning, the troopz are growing and more than that... we can be THIS funny!  big_smile

I hope your holidays have been lovely.  I did stop in on one of your Christmas type Hubs to wish you a Merry one on that day.

Write us something, C.  I enjoy your creativity and miss your poetry a great deal.

I hadn't come across Iðunn's Hubs before.  What a breath of fresh air!  I've been telling some of my poet friends about HubPages because I know they have trouble finding places for their work.  Being able to display your poems with photos and artwork really adds an extra dimension.

    Thank you, Marisa.

I'm glad to see your work here and dare I get personal?  Your personal maturity.

We had such a lovely group of diverse people interacting at the time I took my sabbatical. Hubpages was much smaller then and at the time I left it was the start of the big porn run which I thought was a horrible error on Hubpages part and which I'm glad they have chosen to dispose of.

Having had a lot of experience with large groups of posters in message board type communities, I was sad to return to find "message board power struggles" and other ego-driven type behavior had infilitrated this warm community during my absence.

Usually in the midst of negativity, I simply flee.  I don't like it and I don't want it in my life even tangentally.  However, the Hubpages design allows those of us who don't like conflict or the power struggles of the socially/emotionally immature to interfere with the rest of us, who don't enjoy such behavior, or to let them keep us from communicating with each other.

Having read your hubs and some personal comments you've made, I'm very glad you are here to be part of the warm, positive community niche I prefer.

Please do bring your creative friends and acquaintances - the more the merrier!

To be fair, I partly brought the problem on myself.  I joined HP from a site with similar goals (making money through writing articles).   Members were expected to further that goal by actively helping police the site to improve standards.  Because there were a lot of threads like that in the forums when I joined, I assumed HP was the same, and didn't realise I was stepping on toes.  Gamergirl did try to warn me by telling me I "sounded like a moderator" in one thread - but given the expectations on the other site, I didn't realise that was a criticism!   So I ruffled feathers - then finished it off by posting something I freely admit was dumb in one particular thread.

What saddens me is that people have made a judgment on my whole personality based on that introduction, and I'm still at a loss how to make amends.  At that other site, I loved being part of the forums but was irritated by the restrictions they imposed on writing.  Here, I love the freedom of the HP concept, but my enjoyment of the forums is restricted by the unpleasantness I've encountered.  Let's hope Gamergirl's wish comes true and we can all start afresh for the New Year!
