I published this hub today -
    http://hub pages.com/hub/Five-Simple-Ideas-to-Keep-Kitty-Entertained

I now see it has this warning at the top:
WARNING: This hub is in danger of being flagged as Overly Promotional, for use of affiliate links.

I did add several amazon product links at the bottom, but that's because I wanted to use the amazon images, and in keeping with the TOS, I have to promote these products in order to use the images. I tried to make it less spammy, by tucking those links down at the bottom. It's not like I'm hoping to make money off these $5 products there... I also have several informational links back to my sites. I'm not sure which has triggered the warning and what I should do about it. It's a unique content hub and I put a lot of effort into it.

You you ask questions about your hub in the Extreme Hub Makeover forum it is not considered spam.  In that forum you can even post a link to your Hub and ask questions.

Some people are here for 18 months and never found time to read the rules yikes

You have more than 2 links to one domain, that's why.

Also, placing a link to your hub on forums is considered spam here.

And the last - next time you have a problem of that kind just email team@hubpages.com

    Thank you.

If you use an outbound link more than twice in all your hubs to a single domain (not just a web page), then you are likely to get that error. Exception is on links to hubpages and non-profit making sites like Wikipedia.

Well, that hub has 5 links to your own site, as well as 5 Amazon links.  We allow a max of 2 links to each domain.  If you'd like to add Amazon products to your hub, you can use an Amazon capsule and add specific products by URL or ISBN number.

PS> The users above are right that posting links in the forums is frowned upon, except when asking for constructive criticism, so I've "broken" the links above by inserting a space.

Oh my, so many rules broken.

I have indeed created my account here 18 months ago, and looks like many rules have been changed since then. Consider me a newbie then, I guess, despite having an 18 months old account.

Oh well, I thought the links were relevant. I went ahead and removed some of the amazon images, leaving only two, so I'll be within the quota. I'll have to look into editing the amazon ads, but I really wanted the pics as illustrations in the hub.

I think I've conformed to the rules now and submitted the hub to be published again. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

You can usually use pictures of products under "fair use."  And, as I said, it's easy enough to add the very same products you linked to to an Amazon capsule (which you add, just like any other capsule, under "Add more stuff" on the edit screen).

      This is much better smile

You still need to re-do the Amazon, though. You can't link directly to them, cause this way you don't give Hubpages their 40% share of profits. If you have to have Amazon, use a capsule instead. smile
