You should check the help pages - there's some good info there.
I read this and actually this is why I asked because their is but one paragraph about it..
What does commercial mean?
Commercial hubs are required to have an ad level setting of High. Your hub is considered to be commercial if it meets any of these conditions.
it is monetized through a non-hubpages affiliate mechanism
it contains links to other commercial sites
it promotes a for profit business, especially a business that you have an interest in
but it seems confusing as to what is allowed and why commercial sites are allowed and what is spam? care to endulge me with some insight?
Jerrico
If you're hoping to make money from the Hub itself, or from the site you're linking to, then it's commercial.
A persons opinion of spam can be subjective. We know that the junk mail that we didn't ask for in our email inboxes is spam, but spam can be other things too. So I won't try and cover them in one forum post. But copy and pasted sales pitches for affiliate links may be deemed as spam by the HubPages spam filters. Though if a person were to write an original review on the same product or service it may not be considered to be spam.
So far the only thing I can think of that has been published at HubPages that can't be classified as commercial are original poems. With no outbound links.
But that's just the opinion of a fellow Hub Author.

There has been a lot of discussion in the last few days about HP changing the rules and people being un-featured or even un-published for spam and over promotional activity. So I just want to add my thoughts......Whether people (writers) like it or not most of their traffic will be coming from...

There are some troubled men who regularly use forums, and they have not a single hub in their profiles. How come? How is it allowed? I do not get it--- Is HubPages a chat-website?

Are product reviews allowed or are they too commercial?I would like to write a product-specific review and was wondering whether such commercial topics were allowed under the publishing rules.

If I am not wrong comments were moderated before we were given the chance to view them and choose to accept or deny it, at least in case of unregistered users. Am I wrong in thinking this was the case and it was just something on QnA?If it was, is this no longer the case?I have been getting a lot...

Just in the past 10 minutes or so I've already gotten 3 spam comments, all on the same hub! And whenever I delete one, it seems another immediately comes up!I'm sure that when I wake up tomorrow (it's almost 1 in the morning now) I'll have many more to delete. Ugh, is there a way to stop these spam...
