Sorry to be a huckleberry, but posting links to your hubs is only allowed in the Extreme Makover forum, and yes, it does matter.

Congratulations, though - it is a great thing!

Oh! I am sorry. But I didn't post the link to my hubpage. I just wanted to share the snapshot. Are other links also disallowed here?

Yes, people are searching for law of attraction and yes people are searching for adsense but the only person searching for law of attraction and adsense is NED.

      Not Enough Data.

Search engines and people are fickle things. If 0 people are searching for it, it won't matter how high up you are in the results.

          Just ask the Unimpressed Turtle.

Everything doesn't need to comply to search engines only. I feel, there are certain things that should be shared here, for the sake of knowledge sharing and fun. I did zero keyword research for this post. In fact, it is just out of curiosity that i searched the thing on google and keyword tool after publishing the hub. It felt nice to be on top of search engine for one time..lol.. Who knows if it can start the trend?? wink

Darkside I've linked to Celebrating Useless Keyword Victories a number of times on HubMob forum threads.  I thought the hub was pretty clear, even for novice hubbers.  But people either don't bother to read it, or they just don't get it.  In fact, I got a response recently quite reminiscent of this thread.  “We’re all just learning…”  All evidence to the contrary.

              It's frustrating I know.

I once had a website that came up about 5th page of the results for the search term babes and it got me traffic.

Needless to say, there was an absolute truckload of people searching for babes and some actually bothered to dig quite deep to get their fill.

On the other hand a top result for a term that no one is searching for is going to be monumental waste of time to celebrate.

              Thanks for spreading the word.

Sorry to cramp your style but "for the sake of knowledge sharing" I thought you'd want to learn something of use.

Hmmm.  Seems to me you seriously thought you had something to celebrate, as evidenced by a similar post to the EOM Earnings thread.  No one is trying to ridicule you, just encourage you to learn some important lessons.  I really encourage you to read Darkside's hub.

Lol..now i feel like I should ask someone to delete this thread. I know I am new here and have loads to learn. But, still there could be much more friendlier way to deal with these things. At least, that is what i expect from people who know things better here and are quite experienced.

So, another insight - Can I ask someone here to delete this thread? I don't see any point of having it here anymore now!

    1. darkside profile image65
darksideposted 14 years agoin reply to this

If by friendly you mean that we all celebrate along with you and not point you in the right direction, we'll be doing you a disservice.

If you find honest advice as being unfriendly, then that is unfortunate. Name calling and ridiculing is unfriendly, and there's been none of that here.

Looking at a couple of your hubs it is evident that you have writing talent. And while it is crucial, it's not enough to just be a talented writer. You also need to learn how search engines work (as this will provide you with the bulk of your readership) and being able to take correction if you're off the mark.

  7. rmcrayne profile image90
    rmcrayneposted 14 years ago

I think threads can be closed to reply, but not sure that HP would delete.  Why would you want it deleted?  There's plenty to be learned here, IF people are open to learning.

Don't be embarassed.  You're not the only one to fall into "the celebration".  That's why Darkside wrote the hub, and that's why I reference it fairly often in the forums.

No one intended malice.  The "quite experienced" here sometimes get weary of teaching the same lessons, especially to those who don't really demonstrate openness to learn.

What I dont get is where a one word keyword starts and long tailed keyword ends.  Keywords are in the title, right?  Tags are categories - the content of the article.  Does google just pick both up?  For example.. Blame it on the parents - Scapegoats.  If someone searches for 'blame' and another searches for 'blame the parents', would the article be picked up for the long tail example and the single keyword?

    1. darkside profile image65
darksideposted 14 years agoin reply to this

'blame' would be too general. I'd go for 'blame the parents' if it has some decent monthly search volume.

Not being entirely sure what the hub is about but just going off your title, you may want to consider "blame game" with 1,600 global searches per month to add to your list of tags.
