According to Hank Johnson a  Democrat congressman from Georgia, if we send too many Marines to Guam, it could tip over!  So anyone thinking of going to Guam, please go on a diet first so the island will be safe! smile

          Didn't Tasmania tip over once?

We try not to think of, or talk about Tasmania. Full of Tasmanians seems to be the problem.
Two heads are better than one has real meaning in Tasmania, one of them here on hubpages is typical having two heads.
We may tow it closer and dump our rubbish on it, we'll see. It's in the budget somewhere.

If you donated to Obama's campaign, he'll make sure you get your share of the tax dollars he thinks belong to him to help you out with any Tasmanian problem!

There's a possibility that some oil reserves will be discovered there.  Of course we'll have to invade the island and teach the inhabitants a thing or two about democracy.

Oil you say? Why don't we take a dingy and a boomerang and invade em!

Well I hope some dollars turn up somewhere for all the American friends who are hurting.
It's pretty good here, our government made a mess and a lot of debt bailing out the Australian economy and so far its pretty stable with unemployment around 5% and no real changes for most of us. Our Government decided to put insulation in poor families homes for free, and rushed it. 4 houses have burned down because  staples to hold the insulation in place went through the wiring, or the foil used shorted out the low voltage lighting.
                Some people even died.

I still reckon our Government got it pretty right over all.

Pore money into long term projects to protect and create jobs. How to do that with a congress like yours? I have no idea, I hope Obama has!

Why don't you run against him?  He should be really easy to beat!  Then we would have someone sensible in Congress!
