Netbook vs Labtop vs I-Pad

   I am going to be purchasing one of these soon. I want to be able to take my hubbing and blogging outdoors!  What do you reccomend? have you had any experience with any of them?  Thanks in advance!

      I've just seen one today up close and I can tell you that you will NOT want the iPad to create hubs. It's great for multimedia (ebook reader, music, videos, viewing web pages, etc.) but not so good in the interactive department.  Basically, its a huge iPod Touch and a waste if you are looking for performance.
      
      If you're a numbers cruncher and use excel spreadsheets, word, or even photoshop, forget about the iPad. If you want something like the kindle with tons of time saving aps then go for it.  This is not a productivity machine but it is cool to play with. just my thoughts.

   The Easter Bunny ordered me an iPad, the 3g/wifi 36g! Whoo hooo!
   
   But I don't have experience with it. Not until late April. I have been checking it out online, ipad has an iworks program that works great as a word processor. Though there is some concern with writing in html and using it to download pics.. Do some research online, I have seen quite a few blogs where people wrote it on the ipad and they looked pretty good.
   
   I have my laptop too, so I know I have that as back up. I am gonna be tenting it most of the summer so I really wanted a way to utilize it, and with the option of 3g wherever I go.. you can't really beat that.. wifi's great, but you never know if your gonna be in an area that offers that. Plus it has a longer battery life..

   I have the laptop and the netbook. Personally if I want to go out somewhere and take my computer with me..it's all about the netbook because it is smaller than a laptop and a lot easier to carry around in the smaller bag then a bulky bag. But that is just me

   Bit late, but thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. 
   
   We have both a netbook and a laptop.  For any significant writing, the laptop wins hands down - I just can't write fast on the little netbook keyboard.  For portability, it's the netbook - we take it on trips to send quick emails, browse for a restaurant, etc.

   I do not think blogging with a touch-screen would be comfortable. Also i prefer to go with netbook because they will provide you more mobilebility compared to a notebook. So, get a netbook in my opinion.

      I have a netbook to carry around it works well. At home I have a desktop. I like the large screen and keyboard better.

   I think blogging on an iPad with an iPad would be just as 'OK' as blogging on a net-book. In my opinion I think we could see the iPad being widely used as a blogging device in the future with the appropriate apps.
   
   Netbooks changed laptops, iPad will change netbooks.

    but a full scale laptop would have more functions

    given that you would like to prefer roam and write...please note the following suggestions...
    
    1. find a device or tool that locates wi-fi hotspots so you are not guessing where internet connections are
    
    2. make sure your wireless settings are secured to prevent freeloading, eavesdropping, intrusion and jamming are not possible
    
    3. check with the sites you write for to make sure their software works with the notebook and security settings you select
    
    good luck...I am not a Mac person so by default I recommend the notebook (Sony or HP...)

    I don't know about iPad, but notebook and laptop made for very different purpose(s).
    
    If your concern in writing articles, browsing, hubbing, blogging then I suggest netbook, it's more convenient, mobile, and has full PC features/functions. It also has a longer battery.

    I just got a netbook a few days ago, in fact I wrote my latest hub on it! It's perfect for writing, which is why I got it in the first place. If you're deciding upon HP or Dell, I'd go with HP. They mainly all have the same Intel Atom processors, the biggest difference you'll want to choose from is a 3 cell or 6 cell battery (could mean a difference in hours with battery life) Other than that, it's basically up to what you like asthetically, and which keyboard is most comfortable for you. I ended up with the Samsung N210 (white) and I LOVE it! Just remember that it's designed for basic use, but perfect for writing and you'll be very happy with it!

    I have gone through the same process of thinking and came to this conclusion--If you are the kind of person who packs more in your suitcase (or suitcases) than is necessary because you just want more options, then you want to get a light laptop with a long battery life. I have found the Toshiba laptops blow the others away finding and picking up WiFi but I'm sure there are accessories that make up for that.
    I decided that I had to pack InDesign and Photoshop in my suitcase "just in case" and what if the smaller keyboard cramped my style, I just didn't want to take the chance--but that's just me. If you can pack your suitcase with the minimum, then a netbook or IPad just might be the ticket.

    If you choose to buy netbook, I suggest get with N450 processor. It has battery performance. And I will suggest Asus EePc, in my opinion they have better features compare to HP or Dell.

    I don't know what is the best formula but this is what I am going to do. Macbook at work which enables me to move from meetings to workstations. iPad for after hours stuffs. To me, I need to keep a tab on some emails and look at a few websites over the weekend and iPad suits me just fine. Also, don't forget about Facetime on iPad. It is going to be handy in my opinion.
