Bash Toyota all you want Government Motors and Chrysler... Worst Cars!

   Toyota has it's problems for sure.
   
   But you still have to ask yourself if you want to risk owning a Government Motors Car or a Chrysler.

   GM is getting a lot of Positive PR... but they still lost Billions last quarter. The Government GAVE Billions to GMAC to finance them.

   They have the highest amount of consumer rebates... which will backfire.
   
   The positive press is alarming... but not unexpected.  When you are spoon feeding billions to GM's finance arm... GMAC... then claiming you will be profitable in a different arm of the business it's just sugar coated lies.
   
   Quit bilking the American Public and let GM die!
   
   You can't make this stuff up... they still are not making quality cars.  What does Forbes and JD Powers know? ... a lot!

   Mike not bashing Toyota here as I love my little Corolla but Saturday the unthinkable happened. Instead of over acceleration I got no power at all and then the engine started stalling. We hauled it to the dealership and today they called to say it was going out for gas pedal inspection.
   
   I'm extremely sad at the moment because I love this little '07 Corolla. We did buy it second hand back in Sept. but have had no problems until this past Sat.
   
   We've been watching all the news surrounding this issue and now even though mine wasn't in the recall it might have the same problem. I am just sick and heartbroken. Luckily though when the engine light came on and it didn't want to take off as I pulled out of my parking space I had enough forethought not to drive it anywhere else.
   
   The dealership we deal with is a Ford place for repairs and the like and they felt it best to get a second opinion on the car from Toyota before they release it back to us. I have to commend them on this because they really are going above and beyond with making sure the car is safe to drive now that we have had this issue.
   
   I get what you are saying about GM and Chrysler as I've also had their product and it definitely is inferior to Toyota. Second car I ever had was a Toyota, the car I learned to drive on was a Toyota, so I have a long history with them and hope they can fix my little baby and get her back to me soon.

   I probably should have left Toyota out of the equation.  More on point according to JD Powers, Consumer Reports, and Forbes... Americans still are not building quality cars.  At least for the models they chose to include in the "Worst" category.
   
   I've owned all makes... Toyota, Mazda, Chrysler, Chev, and Ford.  I like Ford interiors, decent engines, poor transmissions.  My Chevs have been trucks and so far so good.  Never found a Chev car outside of the Corvette that was very attractive to me.  My family has owned it's share of Cadillac's and they are okay but drive more like boats to me than cars... just too soft a feel.
   
   I'm just discouraged that with all the money being thrown at GM - and not just GM but it's financing arm GMAC that they still can't produce higher quality cars.
   
   Sure they run ads to tell you how great they are... but these companies evaluating products have no reason to make up the number they are independent sources and they speak for themselves.
   
   BTW:  Our Toyota also a Corolla of older vintage ran and ran and ran and never a problem.  200,000 miles with nothing more than basic maintenance.  Compare that to the Chrysler Van and it has needed 3 Transmissions and 2 Motors to get to 200,000.
   
   GMAC has received nearly $20 Billion of your tax dollars.  And Toyota is being exposed for their practices... but they still have good cars even with problems brought to light.

   No I kinda went off topic with my little crisis, lol. I agree that GM should be able to produce a better quality vehicle with all the help they are getting.

   I think that in the past GM and most other car companies had a policy of designed obsolescence built into their cars.  This was in part to the amount of eligible drivers and owners.
   
   With the advent of more competition from foreign carmakers they have cleaned up their act considerably.
   
   GM now offers a 100,000 mile waranty on their lines and I have owned three Chevrolets without so much as having to give them a tune up.  I have owned a few toyotas and was very impressed with their reliability although a truck I had went through two transmissions.
