When I applied to google adwords I used the URL http://www.hubpages.com and I haven't gotten a confirmation letter yet.  I was wondering how long this typically takes and if I entered the right URL.  Would I have been better off entering my profile URL?

    Thanks in advance!

You got me all confused. Adwords or Adsense? For some reason I thought they are different.

I meant adSense.  I'm sorry for the confusion.  They are the same program just adwords is advertiser side and the adsense is the advertiser publisher side.

Quickest way to an adsense account is to open a blog at blogger dot com. Put in four or five posts on a topic, any topic, as long as it sounds reasonably ok, and apply for your account through blogger. Examples of such posts are "dog grooming" or my favorite "how to make wholemeal dog biscuits".

As an aside that long tail keyword still does not come up on G (Google). BUT, funny enough, this does and it is a hub post (edit later - this forum post) - http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&a … &meta= its (edit- was) my niche sites makes money hub and its number 1 page 1. What a laugh. And I'm trying to get swimwear for women to number 1 and my tricks are not working - YET. Oh - the irony.

      Sorrry I digress--

Works everytime. Come to good ol hubpages and paste in your newly acquired pub- id and away you go.

    Another quick question.

Has anyone gotten approved just by using the hubpages URL?  I'd be okay with waiting, if I knew I had a good shot of getting approved.

    Thanks!

Did you apply for AdSense through HubPages, by clicking the signup link from your affiliate settings page?  If so, then we submitted the URL to your HubPages profile page on your behalf -- and I'm a little confused as to where Google asked you for another URL.  In general I think Google would prefer that you not apply twice -- so if your first application is rejected, they will probably give you some reason.   If the reason is related to you not owning the www.hubpages.com site, or similar I'd recommend just telling them you gave them the wrong URL, and provide them your HubPages profile URL.

Since thousands of people have signed up for AdSense through HubPages, they know who we are.  Most people that apply through HubPages are approved.

    Paul,

I clicked the link and signed up through hubpages, but when it asked for a URL anyway.  I put in hubpages.com.  I'll report back again if I find out anything that may help other hubbers.

You are only three days old at hubpages. Adsense application can take about 7days or so.

    ngureco,

Thanks for clarifying that.  If only I had more patience.
