      Wow.

It's very telling when someone...anyone...at CNN has the guts to agree with John Boehner.   Maybe not ALL the people at CNN are totally nuts.
But it is ironic that they start showing a little common sense NOW, now that Obama's popularity is dwindling.....

BTW, isn't that exactly how Obama got elected in the first place, by catering to the masses with personal-group agendas?!
And he, and/or the other Democrats, are still doing it, this time with non-citizens, even.

    I agree - it's very telling!

The only reason CNN is "turning" is because the political climate is shifting away from Obama.

The rats are always the first to desert a sinking ship.

actually, Lou Dobbs has been speaking out for a long time on CNN. He is an Independent, I think...

He recently quit, too, if I remember correctly...not sure why

  7. Doug Hughes profile image60
    Doug Hughesposted 14 years ago

Lou Dobbs left CNN 6 months ago - so this piece is  significantly older than that. The GOP was upset with amnesty as porposed by McCain and Bush, which included elements of that they considered 'amnesty'...

So I fugure this is a new deception by the wingnuts to get everyone upset about old news in anticipation of Immigration Reform which has NOT YET been proposed!!!!

Sparkling Wingnut posted this. How about a DATE?????
(I'm not asking you out - WHEN is this from?????)

    1. SparklingJewel profile image66
SparklingJewelposted 14 years agoin reply to this

they are currently working on illegal immigration in congress, so even though it may be old, it is still timely...I don't know when it was, I got it from another source...

and Dougy, name calling is not very grown up hmm

      1. Doug Hughes profile image60
Doug Hughesposted 14 years agoin reply to this

You got it from 'another source'.. Who's pulling your strings?

You are a sockpuppet for WHO?  The religous right?

This was presented as if it was current events - the provisions that Lou goes over - point by point are ancient history from some previous incarnation, and were presented with the intent to deceive.

        Who is pulling your strings???

(I love it when you call me dougy - sooo sultry...)

        1. SparklingJewel profile image66
SparklingJewelposted 14 years agoin reply to this

the only obvious and adult thing to do is compare what Dobbs was quoting from a previous bill proposal with what is currently being debated in congress...

I was assuming that who sent it to me knew it was still valid points (from old bill proposal to new bill proposal, my assumption may be wrong

are we clear now Dougy? (if you only knew the way and meaning of which i use "Dougy")....sultry is probably the farthest possible notion smile

so, are you going to do the research and find out, or just keep calling everyone names and labeling with insults?

the truth leaves them without a leg to stand on . . .always! but they will say the same stuff again anyway. . . that is disturbing. it's as though they have a dream or something and then just wake up and say something. here is a conversation:for example they'll say obama went to nazi school. you say  no he didn't. they say obama went to nazi school. you say look here is the school he went too and then show them the papers. then friends say he was in my class. his teachers say yes i taught him and was at his graduation. the guy stands there, then says, obama went to nazi school. ha ha ha

It doesn't matter a lot whether the video was from 2007 or not.
Because it's an eerily-timely comment on what is actually happening today.   Obama IS catering to the illegal immigrants' desire to become instant citizens without going through the normal channels.

Yeah, I too say Obama went to "Nazi school", in effect.
That's a basic aspect of Liberal Arts, apparently.  Plus, he "self-educated" himself by reading and following all the socialist/Nazi crap he read.
I don't think he minds being Nazi-like.  I think he only minds if someone ELSE tries to put HIM under Nazi-like tyranny.   As long as he's the leader, he's happy as a lark.

You seem to have a blind spot when it comes to seeing Obama for what he really is, Joe.

Team Obama's current Immigration Bill plan is pure genuis.

Tell the illegals to admit they are illegal.  Tell them to pay back taxes on all their unreported earnings.  Tell them to pay a huge fine.  Then tell them to get in line and "maybe" they might be eligible to be citizens.

I'm thinking... no chance in he$$ any illegal is going to do that.

Just yesterday a story broke about how non us citizens who are pregnant are coming to the United States so their Children can be born here.  Then they have an "anchor" as the newborn is automatically a citizen.  They can use them later to try and gain citizenship.

And this is a huge problem with no real solution.  Can you blame a child for being born here?  There are many illegals who give birth here and their children are by law citizens.

What do you do.  I haven't seen a good proposal from either party.  But clearly something needs to be done. But what?

It's crazy that there are already states that issue drivers licenses to illegals.  How is that legal?  Who knows.

We can only hope that both parties will take a serious look at this issue and make good on real reform that benefits the interests of American Citizens, but doesn't penalize legitimate immigration.

Team Obama has not proped any specific plan.

If you looked at the rant by Dobbs, it was fron some indeterminate time BEFORE Obama was elected, quite possibly a response to the plan adbanced by Bush & McCain. The Golden Girls want o make jokes, but they aren't answering WHEN the nescast aired. They say they don't know - it was sent by an unknown benefactor who doesn't want to be named in the deception.

And you are promoting it as 'Team Obama' even though  you knoww it's not.  And you liars want to be treated with respect???

I had no idea when the video was made, but I stand by my statement: CNN's ratings are sharply declining. Pity, I actually always thought of them as the fairest. Shows how divided our country is.

Do I understand you right?  First, you post a video from 2007 which you do not identify as such.  Then, the usual suspects chime in, even suggesting that CNN is "turning" because of the political climate against Obama, which serves as evidence that your failure to identify the video as old means others will assume that it is current.

Now, unless I misunderstand you, you want Doug to do the research to find out what you should have had the brains and independent thinking to do before you even posted it.

And you wonder why some of us have a hard time respecting your ideas.  They are so blatantly not your own that it is quite pathetic, really.  This kind of thing is so common here on the forums that it would be funny if it weren't so scary.

    http://factcheck.org/2009/11/lou-dobbs-amnesty-claims

A simple google search showed that John Boehner made the "piece of $hit" statement in May of 2007 and was referring to a Senate compromise bill supported by GWB.

Now, behave like an adult and acknowledge your mistake, or we'll all just assume you did it intentionally.

I have no problem with whether you respect my views/idea/comments or posts...that is up to you...I know where I am coming from.

the fact that some people are so ready to criticize and act as if they know someone is doing something to them, to mislead them, is quite telling...geez, its just information: what you think of it and what you do with it is in your hands.

If you need to critic me and put me down, that is where you are.

If you want to try and change me, or make me out to be something you think I am, so be it. Doesn't phase me...I don't respect you any less.

I have no problem saying my logic and actions are sometimes imperfect...but there is nothing to apologize for...i did nothing "to" anyone.

no pp, I did not, I don't even know how to find that out...as I said, it was sent to me...  i had my own conclusions on it and put it out there for responses, knowing that the new debate on immigration is going on in congress.

I am glad that some people know how to think things through in a more objective and thorough way before responding...i don't always do so...

    Well, Google is your friend.

If you're going to be an informed citizen, you might want to investigate your own sources, rather than suggesting that others do it for you.

I never intended to "put you down"; but you can't expect to be taken seriously when you do stuff like that.

  17. SparklingJewel profile image66
    SparklingJewelposted 14 years ago

I didn't ask anyone to do it for me...i just said that if he wanted to know, he could do it. i wasn't inclined to do so...even if I knew how, I may not have been inclined to do so...smile

I am anonymous here...it really doesn't matter if someone takes me seriously or not...I can accept that I am learning what I want to learn, within a subject, or with my interactions with others

people and their perceptions are very interesting...no one can ever really know what someone else thinks, feels, or knows about anything...it makes it easier to stay harmonious when that is realized smile being anonymous also helps smile

In this case 'anonymous' is synonymous with a lot of adverbs that are none too flattering. To secretly post an ancient video as if it is current news and then not identify the group that was the source..

...and back to the point of the thread...

the current legislation appears to be going down the same or similar road as far as helping illegal immigrants to become legal

it is a sure way to have many more votes for continuing corruption in our government

it is amazing there are so many Americans that can't seem to uphold the laws...dems or repubs...that needs to change, and I for one work toward those ends...regardless of my mistakes smile

Your opening and last post suggest that Obama would game the 2012 election with hte Latino Votes of illegal immigrants.

For the record, in the last election the score in the electoral college (they actually elect the president)was -

    Obama  - 365 votes
    McCain - 173 votes

We are probably well past the point where an unknown can emerge and rise up for the GOP... So just who do you think the democrats need to be afraid of in 2012 - so much so that they will pack the electorate with illegals??? Gingrich? Pawlenty? Romney?????  or the quittah from Wasillah????

The premise of the post is ridiculous and offensive. But the video from 2007 was deceptive. So it's all in perfect character. Immigration reform will be addressed - this year I hope - and it will have nothing to do with voter fraud.
