Does your town have any special clocks, or clocks with history?

I love to hear stories about clocks. When I travel, I research clocks before I go, and then make it my challenge to find them photograph them, and find out more about them.

Therefore, if you have a clock of any interest where you live, I'd really like to hear about it. Yes, I am planning a holiday, and maybe I'll decide where to go based on interesting clocks!

My grandfather built a four sided street clock in the 1930's--
It was recently restored, brought back to working order and put on display in Buena Park, California. I have a hub about it.
If you search 'clock' on my profile page you will find it. If you Google "Dreger Clock" you will also find it.
I also have another hub about the Mariposa County courthouse, which has a tower clock that has been running since 1854-- it runs on weights that have to be reset every three days.

You have to come to California to see these.

Thanks, I loved that link but it didn't talk about the clock. I've heard a lot about Denver, and I'd like to go there one day.

During my time at Marquette - my dorm room overlooked the lighted clock - very cool.  Brought back great memories.

The Forbidden City in Beijing has a special exhibition hall dedicated to clocks received by various emperors as gifts from wetern powers. They are simply amazing.

I gather some of the clocks are currently 'travelling' (In the Netherlands accoring to one story) but if you check you should be able to see the whole collection there, and much else besides
