I have read a couple of hubs that contained the incorrect usage of the words "I" and Me"
Using the Correct Words.
Take the sentence:
“If you need help with your project just ask Janine or I"
To know if the word "I" is correct, remove the other person from the sentence and you will instantly know the word to use is “Me “ instead of “I“
“If you need help with your project just ask me“
After finding the correct word, put the other person back in the sentence.
“If you need help with your project just ask Janine or me“ That sounds so much better.
Let's write another sentence.
“Me and Maggie went shopping today" How does that sound?
Let's remove Maggie from the sentence and say it again.
“Me went shopping today“
Since we know this is wrong, change it to correct English
“I went shopping today“
Now that we know which word is correct let's add Maggie's name. The rule of thumb is to always say the name of the other person before our own.
“Maggie and I went shopping today“
Though this may be a simple rule for many it can be very hard for others.
Totally Agree...
But how come they have referred to you in their hubs?
This is the same way my nan taught me to remember it....I notice people on TV always get it wrong too.
The trouble with incorrect English is when it slips into every day spoken usage. Kids hear it on the TV, for example, and think that is how it is said. They then write what they hear.
Not just kids, adults too. Listen to any two women chatting in a supermarket and you'll hear repeated grammatical errors. ("me and Billy went to the Bingo last night")
Some can speak grammatically incorrectly and write perfectly. Others can't.
True. I hear incorrect word usage all the time.
Now, if only those who used the wrong words in their hubs would read this.

There are a few glaring errors I've been seeing too often lately. Some are here; others are elsewhere on the Internet. There's no accounting, of course, for the comments on such places as Face Book; it's not a writing site. But on writing sites, it drives me cuckoo to see such...

Why do some people use a singular noun when they start a phrase with "one of your . . . "?They might continue by saying "[one of your] best/worst/favorite/least-favorite/best-loved/most-hated" or something similar. Do you have a grammar theory?

Hello guys!I just want to ask something, as you can see on my subject of my topic, I am confused when to put comma after the word "and"? I have read hubs about how to use comma, but some time I see sentences where comma is preceded by the word and.I know how to use comma like: use a comma...
