What is the best place to spend new year's eve?  So far my favorite has been the Costa del Sol.  The parties last forever, everybody drinking and dancing on public parks, bars, discos, beach...  great.

Been in New York but I think I missed it completely!  It was boring...

Sydney!  The weather's warm, so you can party on the beach or on a terrace in the balmy air, and the fireworks on the Harbour are spectacular.

I agree with lisadavies - Dublin (Ireland!) is the tops. Spent many New Year's eves outside Christ Church Cathedral listening to the bells ring in the new year, amidst scenes of joyful chaos on the street below! At least I remember some of them...

I've come to the conclusion it's wherever you are at that time. smile My favourite place is on the beach at a little coastal village called Crescent Head on the mid-north coast of New South Wales. The reason? Everyone was having a good time, even without the fireworks. Who needs them when you have 7km of beach in front of you and a club, a pub and almost everyone there is on holidays?

Sydney isn't too half bad, either. Great fireworks, even if there's a massive crowd to contend with. smile

I am so introverted so I always enjoy New Year's Eve at home because of the crowd.  I can watch New Year's Celebrations on TV.  Although I would not mind spending the evening in Hawaii if I had more money.

have you considered Tokyo?

I've read that their firework expiations are meant to be spectacular..

I just did a quick Google search anyway, an came up with the following page, may have seen it already yourself?
