Just set up my PayPal and looking to purchase a very low cost site. Advice any one. HubPages has it's promise of money after about 5000 hubs, if I live long enough, so i need to look around.
Use Google to search for buy and sell sites
lots places selling and even existing biz sites
good luck!

That would be good advice Dame.
I would also suggest that glendon find out first what server side tools and software he needs to do the job.
Glendon there is a lot to know if you want the site to be flexible for business growth.
I have a site that cost me about $100 It has the works including wordpress, and cpanel with the works and heaps of bandwidth. The real work is in finding out what you need. If you would like to have a look at what is offered Google "your software website." ![]()
Thanks guys. I have been spending some time looking at people who broker web sites.
Anything good seems to be over my budget, but somewhere out there... ![]()

But thanks for input.

If you write quality Hubs on the right topics, you don't need 5000 of them.
You've been in marketing, you should be able to work out what sells.

How about 4,999?
Seriously, let's say I enjoy writing organically so I wont do ipods, kitchen utensils, sexy indian movie stars etc.
Well...don't rule out the kitchen utensils yet. I am all for SaladMaster. Just not joined yet.
My real question is will anyone who is in the small to medium web site business share some hints. I mean someone with a clean honest site. No ponzi, no scam, no hyip. I've been researching sites for a long time now but before making decision I'm open to some cool advice from the HP community.

Sexy Indian movie stars get lots of traffic but don't make any money.
Seriously though, if you're going to say "I only want to write about things I like" then don't expect to earn big bucks. You can't have it both ways.
I write about things I like - some of them make money, some don't. If you seriously want to earn money from a website, then you have to choose a subject that's commercial, whether you like it or not.
I have some dance websites. There isn't much competition, but then the market is very small too, so they don't make much money. I run them because I enjoy it - but that's a choice I make.

Lets put it this way. We are talking about two different but related issues here:
1. How to make money on hubpages.
2. How to make money on a low cost website that you own.
Let's begin with HubPages. a great site. SEO and all. I'm a bit new to the internet marketing game but I am willing to explore options. But my first choice is to write what I know and love. You would be surprised at the topics of my highest earning hubs (by earning I'm talking peanuts money really, but by the time i reach 5000 hubs things might improve). I am willing to do the keyword research and write for the market. I have also done a few hubs based on trends and news, preparing one right now on Obama. But prefer organic traffic for writing what I know and love.
Back to my present search for holy grail site. Well I have spent sleepless nights looking at many sites for sale. But I'm open to ideas. I believe that internet is new real estate.

They give you a recommended host which has got all the bells and whistles for a good price. They are quick and helpful so far and I think the lot cost me about $100
I have been there a while now. Access has been great, and the server provides plenty of b/w and processor time.![]()

You should email me your affiliate link or something so you benefit if i buy. Only fair. Even with an atheist. ![]()
No need Gc, I try not to benefit from any advice I give here, just a thing I have about hubpages I guess.
but it does have enough facilities server side to run a business providing it is not too big.
If you have a big list, you can host them on 1shoppingcat, but it costs, and rises with the number of subscribers. My daughters 40,000 on subscribers are hosted there.
(assuming you need a shopping cart.)
If you are sending a newsletter you can buy that "surge" bandwidth when it is needed. I hope this helps.
Here is a direct link to their hosting information.

Finding a niche website that you enjoy is not difficult!
I buy up profitable domains 5-7 a week.
pop up a wordpress install, 1 intro post (seo optimized) adsense and related aff links.
I get back to them for real development when i can
I only pick topics i enjoy or am knowledgeable about
Most make up their initial costs (domain, hosting percentage, time) within 2 weeks
If you dont want to go the research and dev route
try sites like this one

Just NEVER ever trust their posted stats, alexa rankings etc..as there are tons of ways to inflate those even when they are legitimate.
Do the research yourself

You need to diversify from HubPages to make serious money. If you are trying to build a mini e-commerce site (or any site for that matter) try this free content management system called Drupal that makes building a website a breeze. godaddy will install it on a basic hosting plan for free. Cost will be $65-80 per year.
Drupal has every functionality you can imagine, shopping cart, credit card payment gateway, paypal gateway, adsense, amazon module, forums, blog engines, ...... all FREE!
It does require you a bit of technical knowledge but once you get your head around it the speed with which you can churn out full blown ecommerce webites is unbelievable.
I recently created a site in 65$/year in less than 10 days! I am a software programmer though.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Don't necessarily go for Low Cost Web Sites. Sometimes, the service you get isn't so professional.
How about trying FREE Websites for now (Sub domains). A few Hubbers have given you names above.
The good thing about this is, they are so easy to create and can be published immediately. Also, if you choose to, you can upgrade for about $30 - $40 a year. Website stays the same but you'll have your own Domain.
Example
Subdomain. http://Glendoncaba.com
Domain. Http://www.Gendoncaba.com
(Pardon me if I've over explained. lol)
I have 2 Free Websites, that have Adsense and Paypal.
Thanks every one. Well I wont learn to swim unless i dive in.
My website is with intuit - i have a hub reviewing it if you want a look at what you get.
Also i've just found another place that looks promising called DevHub. I was going to try it out today and see what it's like.
At first i could not decide for want of real testimonies form trusted people. Now i cant decide because so many good persons are giving me great ideas.
I'm checking each site. Will make a decision by next week.
Some of you guys could earn money mentoring many many persons.
