Are you taking into account the escalation of earnings as time goes on? What I mean is - good Hubs earn faster the longer they're in existence.
Certainly O belly dancing one!
The figure 5,000 is not meant to be taken literally, I could have written 50 million.
Looking at the rate of growth I knew that I wanted a faster growing crop on my own farm while I worked on the 'sharecropping' (to borrow from another hubber) deal over here. No disrespect to Hubpages at all. Just need to add to the mix.
Do you have your own websites that earn passive income?
Are you saying that it is impossible to buy a site with traffic and income?
As far as online marketing is concerned I'm still a newbie, so let's see what Keyword Academy will make of me, and vice versa.

Yes, I have two websites earning passive income, though they're only making the impressive total of about $100 a month. Of course they're not completely passive - I occasionally do updates or add the odd bit of new material. However they're not blogs where I have to post every day.
You're getting two different types of advice on this thread - one is how to start your own site from scratch, the other is where to go to buy an existing one (website brokers). I started my sites from scratch.
I'm sure it is possible to buy a ready-made profitable site, but if it's any good, it's not going to be cheap. It's like buying a house - if you see a bargain, it's bound to have something wrong with it.
Buying a readymade site sounds way more promising than it is, as has been pointed out, the pages sale cost is based on estimations of its profit potential.
But those of us who sell premade sites, can use all sorts of devious means to inflate traffic, like buying junk traffic, so those stats are meaningless.
We also usually have an entire network of sites that feed traffic to our new sites, once they are no longer our site that support may disappear.
When you have a page that creates a solid daily income there is really no logically reason to sell it
In my opinion you pay way to much for "potential" when buying pre-mades.
With the same budget, you could outsource all the design and content develoment and with proper research create a much better site
I hate the concept of paying for something like keyword academy
after trial,, try thirtydaychallenge.com (free)
and shoemoney.com 's training course (google it)
both send you lots of upsells but the info is spot-on and written by very successful examples in the industry, shoemoney is well proven

Congrats! Especially if you r still on learning curve, making $100 a month is doing great. Just keep repeating what you are doing and soon you'll be at $500 per month.
You guys r all inspiring me to go on.
I realise that from day one my problem would be how much money do I have to invest. If the concept is good I suppose I could find a friend or two to join me in a venture, but right now it's a shoestring budget.

Yea sunforged, I'm very very wary of site vendors because I know traffic can be inflated.
I understand how you feel about Keyword Academy, but if I may borrow a lesson from nature, sometimes we have to hold babies hands until they have the confidence to step out on their own.
In the ocean of competing ideas I opted for the tried and true school type approach. But as you are aware I have 30 days to check it out.
Thanks for the other links.

From what I've seen of the Keyword Academy and Courtney Tuttle, you will learn a lot.
I saw a video he made of when he was doing his 100 hubs in 30 days challenge and it gave me a whole different perspective of how to do things. Previously I had been using a shotgun, Courtney handed me a sniper rifle and the scope and showed me how to use it.
ive done further research into keyword academy and have only seen great reviews.
i think ill grab a trial too, im always open for new ideas.
i already have a sniper rifle, but maybe i can still get a better scope
Darkside, do you know courtneys user name here, id like to see examples of his work

Hi Glen - go check out startlogic.com - unlimited everything for less than $6 per month - as well - sign up as an affiliate and anyone you sign up under your link you make $100 - I did it and spend the money I earn buying up domains. - As well, if you are looking for quality sites to just pick up and run with hit me up I can easily point you in the right directions - let me know the niche you want to start with.

Glendon,
I've been providing advice to people about this topic for around 10 years. Have a look at my hubs.
Look at my website - link at the top of my profile.
there's lots of free info there.
And a book that contains everything that people should know before setting up a website - but which nobody ever tells you.
Cheers,
Eric G.
Hi,
There are many companies specially in Orange County, California who offered cheap websites especially for small and medium companies.

Just set up my PayPal and looking to purchase a very low cost site. Advice any one. HubPages has it's promise of money after about 5000 hubs, if I live long enough, so i need to look around.
Hi
My site cost me $299US. I did the whole thing myself. You need absolutely NO HTML knowledge at all and there are no hidden charges or additional costs.

Hi,
What I advised to gor a company who offers websites for small businesses.
As then you can have a security of your site and also whenever there is a need of updation you can have at it a relatively less price.
