How can I save somebodies profile pic?
I wish to save somebodies profile pic as a jpg, preferably larger than the one shown, in order to do a suprise tribute hub to them. Dont worry, they would appreciate it, and it wont be too sickly.
I know that there is a way because somebody was on here upset that somebody had used their profile pic in their hub. Although that was a negative experience.
Any ideas?

Images scale down nicely..they don't scale up. Just a hint to keep in mind.

If it cant be sized up, can it be saved in the same size as shown? That would be very small, but better than nowt!
Yes it can and if you save it as jpeg you can improve the quality of the image with a few tweaks if you are on Vista, just load the pic up and click on "fix" then mess about with the settings, contrast etc.

If you go to a persons profile and right click on their image and do "View Image" the image is 177px square, rather than the 100px square you see in the forum.

You can use image editing sofware, such as Photoshop to interpolate the picture. This will generate more pixels within the image thus increasing the size of the picture.
But it won't work. You are already dealing with a postage stamp sized image to start with, and the information it contains will not be of sufficient quality to make even interpolation worth your time.darkside wrote:

Funny thing you mention BadCo Ryan, I still recall the day I got a message from a newbie asking advice about writing a hub about Zidane, and I told him to go for it.
When I read that newbies hub I was amazed at how much better it was than my George Best hub and even to this day it is my fav hub of that newbie. I pretty much run the show on Serial Killers and 'Soccer' here now, they dont make me much, but I have shown myself how to keep my visitors on my hubs. If you find a serial killer hub of mine, or a football hub, its very rare for any of the 'related hubs' to be anybody other than mine. Now that doesnt mean much for my adsense, but if you monopolise hubs on heart conditions.... thats big business!

Ryan you didn't kill BadCo but that thread did just watching the replies from stupid wankers that know bugger all about me. Truth is we are a lot alike in that we speak our mind, truth is sometimes you really piss me off but in a good way because you speak your mind and I like that.
Like your thread about hubs, like forget it mate you have a hell of a lot going for you. As i have already told you in 6 months from now your serial killer hubs will be paying you really nice, add to them, build them up more ok.

Trust me mate, I want that passion back too. I'm doing something at the moment which is exciting me a lot.... so maybe that will help me to regain my spark. In a way BadCo (can I even call you that?) you are the same.... can feel a little bit of lost spark from you too. Maybe its the winter blues, were on the wrong side of that pond mate!

I wanted to get a bigger picture of a sexy hubber, and was disguising that by stating that I wanted to write a poetic tribute about a mystery hubber. Now I realised that the pic was fake, and feel guilty about my dishonesty, so Im going to do a tribute to BadCompany99 with my first ever hubpages poem.
