No one really wants to think about what should happen to them if they get ill or have an accident. Many people don’t even have a will in the event of their death, yet alone think about their wishes should their lives turn and they are unable to mentally/physically function.
As you probably can see from my profile, I volunteer with the Red Cross. Essentially, I take cancer patients to Oncology for their radiotherapy treatment. During their time with me, I am their confidant, their support and the one they rely on in this time of need. Although, most patients get through treatment and go on to leading a fulfilling life, there are some cases that aren’t so lucky.
What Is A Living Will?
This is a way of communicating healthcare desires when he or she is unable to speak for themselves. It is a course of guidance to the caregivers as to how the patient, as an individual, would wish to be treated. This may forbid certain treatments and interventions. It may include certain life-style choices for which the patient enjoyed prior to the disability or illness.
I published my Living Will as a hub. I hope it might inspire others to consider it for themselves. Take a look, if you want. I hope it might give you some food for thought.
I appreciate your comments.
I'm all for it. Of course, I still haven't gotten around to writing mine
And there is no evil involved, it's a smart thing to do.
I wrote a hub about it too:

PS...you have to stop starting threads to promote your hub... thanks for giving me the opportunity to publicize mine ![]()
thank you both ! I didn't know it existed. I'll have to research if it runs in my country.
I hope it does. cheers !! ![]()

Yep, I will look at yours. It isnt so much publising, I just want to get the word out there, so it might help others. They are brilliant and very useful. I call it an 'evil' cos no one wants to think about potential disability x

See...everyone thinks their hubs are must reads. If everyone started threads to promote their hubs the forum would be unusable.

Thanks. It's difficult, isnt it... People create hubs because they want to share news/experiences, maybe generate some food for thought and debate. Where does the hub end and the forum start? Does this mean we aren't allowed to discuss what is important to us, because we 'hubbed' it? x
Im not in this for advertising revenue - it would be nice, but I dont actually believe you can make money out of this. This is not my priority. I am doing this because it helps me express myself.
Thinking....Maybe, I should forget about hubbing and just post on the forum?
You can post and start discussions. You just shouldn't say "check out my hub", people probably will anyway.
If you want to have your hubs READ then join the thirty day challenge and post the relevant URLs in the relevant 30dc thread.

Can you help me with this... I don't know where and how this works x
Set yourself the target of writing 30 hubs over a 30 day period.
There is no pressure to meet a specific date; you set it yourself.
As it also lists all new hub URLs from those who are participating in it; it is a great place to notice incoming works.
