Hi all,

My husband and I are considering a trip to Lake Tahoe next month - no kids!  (grin).  We'll be making the long 12-hour drive from our home, so can be pretty flexible.  Looking for some input on places to stay - or not - and places to see.  I haven't been to the area since I was about 12.  I ski, but he does not, so we'll be looking to do some snow shoeing, or maybe cross-country skiing.  Other than that, taking photographs, reading, relaxing.  I can't wait!

Love to hear what you all have to say - thanks!

Steph

I go there every summer and one of the things I like to do is rent cabins, there are some very good listing services online that you can use . They offer very simple 1 room condos to outrageous mansions. Just do a google search, I feel for the price of a hotel its always much more fun to stay in a cabin with a view. I also like to do the snowmobile trails and/or Atv depending on the season.

Thanks Las Vegas,

A cabin sounds ideal!  I was hoping to sort through all the ads/info I'll get with a Google search and see what people have to say about specific placees to stay.  It is such a beautiful spot.  I'll bet its hard to go wrong.

Thanks - Steph

Oh man, too bad I was too late with this thread.  My family goes there every year (and my wife and I went there last year).

I was actually considering doing a hub on Lake Tahoe- I've got a TON of pictures.  While we were there I even came face to face with a wild bear!  I took photos of him charging at me, eating out of the trash can, etc.  Well, I thought my camera was having issues when it took like 3 seconds to snap the photos and much to my dismay I later found out that's because I had it on the "film" setting.  So yeah, the pictures were really short 1-second movie clips that took place 3 seconds later than I wanted them to!

I might just have to write that hub, though.
