My favorite tip (currently) is to find related blogs on my hub article, post a nice comment, and use the url to my hub on that topic in the URL box for most blogs. Some do not have this facility so I have to think about what my comment is going to be so that it is valuable to the blogger! If I can come up with something valuable to a blogger and add my link in the comment it seems to go well.
I have had unexpected results from this! I actually was contacted by the owner of one blog I commented on and was offered $12 for 3-4 paragraphs of content for his blog! It took me less then a half hour to write the first bit of content for this person and he loved it, seemed like a good way to get a bit of spare cash!
What are your favorite tips? Can you suggest something that will change my favorite?
I have no good adice, for me to get traffic, I need to write a hub... I just wanted to say thats a cool thing that happened!! Yay for you. ![]()
Social bookmarking. Just choose the dofollow one.
I do that stuff too - I have a MySpace account, a Facebook account, and so forth. I used a username based on my real name and that helped too - I earned my first few cents (not disclosing how much, mind you) from Adsense and my strategies helped!
If you do it right, commenting can be a good method for getting search engine rankings. I have had a blogspot blog ranked really high in SERPs by this method within a week of its launch and this blog had a very few posts. I commented only on posts having same or related keywords to my blog.
BUT after a month or so of quitting this practice, my blog started falling in SERPs and now doesn't rank very well.
Lesson: If you do it rite, commenting can be beneficial for SEO BUT it is not a long-term strategy.
A few months back, I started getting backlinks through articles and this seems like a really beneficial and long term method to me.
Be it commenting or article writing, the focus should be on ranking high in SERPs rather than generating temporary traffic which may or may not be the targeted one.
"What is your favorite tip to getting traffic to your hubs?" SORRY, I have no answer for it because I dont know anything about it. but would definitely like to know more about it. so though of being a part of your thread. May be this is not the right area for me.
I just recently "tweaked my tags"...and had great results from doing this to older Hub Poems...! Now...I'm working on all of them. There seems to be different schools of thought on this. Someone here was quoting a large number of tags for their Hub worked best...However, I think that it is different for Poetry Hubs on here...(Everything applies differently for Poetry Hubs...
!) I just tried to kick back and let the computer pick my tags...i figured i was being stubborn by creating tags I thought folks would "tag on too"...ya' know? Sometimes...i add one or two tags...that if you were researching a topic you might look up that word for instance...target rifle>windage, spaceship>starship, etc. But I'm just guessing. Anyways, I'll have to see how this works out over the long-term?
Good idea because one thing you have to consider is that keywords change over a period of time.
Say I make a Hub on "Blue widgets"in Jan 2008.
The tags are all good and solid, but in August 2008 "Blue Tooth Blue Widgets" are all the rage.
My original "Blue Widgets" keywords take a beating and what was once good, isn't anymore, so I do new research to see what the best keywords are NOW for "Blue Wigets".
I correct it and bingo!
(I hope all that made sense)
I like the article writing and having my HP url at the end
they may get featured on another site.
If you have many hubs .... Then use the way of interlinking them by providing url at the end of each hubs .....
When I did this to my hubs ..... my traffic doubled .... and adsense money increased by $2 .....
Learn SEO - write keyword focusses hubs and then develop backlinks to them - by - for example - writing articles at places like Ezinearticles ( I wrote a hub on that)
I like the info on tweaking the tags. I won't mess with a article if it lands on the first or second page of Google's search engine.
backlinks of all shapes and varieties
using interlinking whenever relevant including going back to older hubs and working in new links to new content
