My music taste has changed greatly since I was 16, although the scene at the time has a big impact on me today.  I loved Duran Duran when I was 16.  I now love Radiohead, The National and Joy Division.  Who were your favourite band when you were 16?

Thought this would be interesting as there are lots of age ranges here!

New Kids On The Block. I was 16 in 1990, which is my excuse.

By 16 my taste stopped being something that would embarrass me later. My favorite musician then is the same as now, Tori Amos, an absolute goddess!

Now my favorite band at 13, I plea the 5th!

I am usually inspired by a song but not all the music by said artist, I often think the music I hear is one hit wonder stuff. Thinking about it a bit more I can think of a few artists that have produced a lot of good music of late actually. Collide has a sound that I find enthralling, I just wish they would do more! To get a good sample look for 'wings of steel'. I really love 'flight of the concords', the humans are dead! I guess the problem is that it takes more to impress me then it used to, I require consistently great music!
