You gotta come from the heart. Then work on style. Then you might get some beats that match your persona. Wal-la now your on your way.

      Keep practicing

You have to have a unique sound and personality. Decide what messages are you trying to convey to the people, and why they should even buy your music. If what you are saying is not relevant, why should people even care about what you are rapping about?

Drake AKA Aubrey Graham started out on a show called degrassi and now hes famous, Kanye was and still is a major producer.

Its all about who you know in the industry, get some connections, and promote the heck out of yourself.

If you want to be a great rapper, don't strive to be like great mainstream entertainers - aka Drake, Kanye, Jay-Z.  None of them are great rappers...

Definitely true.. be your own artist, build a buzz with your local people, join sites like ReverbNation and have some tracks created and added to a mixtape, things of that nature.  If you feel you have the skills already to write, and deliver, then you can start your own buzz.. get some hott beats, and please above all.. a decent mic.  There's plenty of kats on Myspace or other places that have bad mics that you can hear the hiss and crackle of the mic.  Variety is also key in the content you're writing about.
