I've been here for a while on HP, have made several very good friends, and have come to know and admire many.

February is the traditional time for expressing love and affection, and I will take this time from now through February to show my appreciation for every one of the 616 fans/followers of mine who are still here on HP.

Granted, some of these fans/followers didn't find anything special in what I had to say; instead, they were "fan spamming", but, they are in the minority and I will recognize them anyway.

Maybe my thanks to and appreciation of my fans/followers will be by way of a comment on one of their recent Hubs, or through a contact email, or for some, a phone call or a snail mail letter or card.

There are also many for whom I have not left follow mail (can you tell I have a problem with the change from fan to follower?  LOL).  And so, my appreciation of them will be through leaving a fan mail message.

I value the support in this community very much.

Maybe you will use this thread to express what you think about your fans/followers?  Some of you have thousands.  Some of you have ten or twenty.  How do you value this support?

I have started this adventure with those whom I follow, simply because I can sort them alphabetically and easily keep track of whom I'm acknowledging.

Wish I could sort those who follow me in the same way. If there's a way to do this, please let me know.

Three days into this adventure, I have looked through 41 Hubbers whom I follow whose names begin with A, 24 whose names begin with B, and 21 beginning with C.

This effort started out to be serendipitous, but now it is also poignant and very much committed to.

So many seem to have left HP. For what reasons? As I go through the names and find those who have not had any activity in months, I wonder about them. I record my wonderings on paper...my speculations will be there for another day to look at and write about.

I've created colors and codes to mark my progress on that paper and to alert me to things I must do in the future regarding these presences...these people...who have been a part of my HP world. I've developed a database of sorts. Right now it's on paper, as I've said, but I can see MS Project or Excel in the offing...hope I don't get that anal.

I have left fan mail, comments, and contact email, depending on what I felt I wanted to say to show my appreciation. As you can imagine, I've been reading A LOT. And I am mesmerized.  There is good work out here. And good people.

That's it for now on my progress.

    Hello Sally's Trove!
Well, it will be awhile till you get to the "Ms" so I'll jump in here and say this is a delightful idea.
It just shows what a caring and thoughtful person you are.
I am proud to be among your FANS (like you, having trouble to adjusting to "following" as it reminds me too much of twitter).

Hope you reconnect with lots of cool hubbers.
And be sure to write a hub about the experience!
Cheers and happy almost February... MM

lol Mighty Mom...you are so right. At this pace it will take a while to get to you.

But meanwhile, know that I will be there and that this post is only one small sign of appreciation for you.
