            Conclusions... hehe.  Man, I have even trouble drawing the curtains. 
            
            Seriously.  I love drawing hands and feet, but I get boggled trying to draw the arms connecting to the body with any kind of 3 dimension plane of movement.  Legs are a little easier because they are usually just walking running or kicking, but arms do all kinds of wacky positions.

      Vehicles. I hate drawing cars or trains or planes or anything like that. Architecture comes second but I'm getting somewhere on that. Products like phones or glasses or cookware and so forth. I'm all right with people but not that fond of doing them in modern clothing.

   hi, i made a post a while back asking for advice on drawing movement. i have how to draw books. i can draw the pictures pretty good but when i want to position them a way the book doesn't show i don't know how to. no one really replied to my post.

      Yeah drawing movement is quite difficult, the best way I've found is once you have gone through a book copying the drawings as they have been laid out as is. You can then start to draw the stuff in different ways to see if it works, sometimes I find that drawing what I want to happen it just works.
      
      Also observe people and stuff from real life every chance you get and take photographs too I started to do this a few years ago and it helps immensely!

      Lecie, one of the things I've done is study animation--particularly old style animators like the Disney studios (not computer-generated images, which is as much a study of computers as art).  An animator is the expert at suggesting movement, and if there are books or online tutorials about animation, you will also see how it relates to an understanding of both the human figure and perspective.  It is one of the most difficult things to get the hang of, but it is also (at least for me) one of the most fun.

      I actually remember that forums thread. It got me looking into mannequins for drawing purposes which somehow lead to dressmakers dummies which in turn led to a hub about dressmaker dummies including making your own
      Funny how one thing leads to another
      I did think the mannequins idea was the best I have ever heard for that problem (different body poses for character drawing). I imagine you would need a whole host of mannequins, from animals to people ones to more easily visualize the different poses

   I struggle some with animal heads--I can usually get the body of a dog or horse (or whatever) down, but unless it's a cartoon, I struggle with the head.
   
   A different kind of struggle for me is interiors.  I can draw a room with people sitting on chairs, etc., but I get bored and sometimes frustrated with accurately drawing a sofa or coffee table (and getting the perspective right).  I prefer the freedom of drawing people or outdoor scenery to the precision of chairs and pictures hanging on a wall.

      Ha, I'm quite the opposite there Mike, I can draw interiors for hours on end, obsessed with getting it right to perspective and scale and then I revel in the shading process especially if there are some mix of different textures at work...

         Yeah, that makes me crazy, and drawing figures sitting around a table is about all I have the patience for.  While I can get it done it is a study in frustration for me.  Give me a mountain range or a lake and I'm much more content.

         When drawing motorbikes and cars etc, I always like to practice drawing from a photo for a good few tries just to get it right then I tuck the photo away and draw some realistic bikes and stuff....this is another hubpage in draft that I have yet to finish!!

    People are definitely the hardest thing for me to draw (particularly the eyes). It's just so hard for me to get the proportions right, and even when I measure it out, they still look like a child drew them (although a lot of children can draw people better than me). I can draw inanimate objects alright and I can shade them really well, but never ask me to draw a face; you will be sorely disappointed.

    I have trouble drawing a straight line, a circle and anything in between.  I have even been known to have trouble drawing a breath.  Two of my three children, have no problem with it at all my youngest is a remarkable artist and my eldest takes after me.  My eldest and I are also both directionally and spacialy (I made up that word) challenged so I'm thinking our gray matter is just not wired that way.
    
    I greatly admire those who have the ability while I find that I have learned to draw with words.

    I find the fur on animals the hardest thing to draw, I used to find individual strands of people's hair difficult, but have just about cracked that. Eyes can be difficult too, but I find if you get the eyes right then everything else tends to fall in to place.

    I'm great with structure and nature, and getting pretty decent with humans, but for whatever reason, I  s.u.c.k  at drawing cartoons! Ellipses always give me a little trouble too. God forbid there be a pitcher or large vase of sorts in my background, so help my drawing.

    I love drawing people, animals and plants, but things like buildings and automobiles are hard. I think it's because they require so much time, effort and measuring to get them to look proportionally correct.

       I'm the same. I've practiced drawing human figures 100 times as much as the backgrounds that surround them. So I already know what I need to work on.... I think I'll just draw a few more people first to get warmed up for drawing the house in the background...

    When I struggled drawing the human form, I had my son pose. Every 15 seconds he would change his pose while I quick sketched. It helped me to draw only the lines I saw rather than waste time on drawing how I thought it should look. There is a difference. Once I let myself draw without over working it, my drawings greatly improved.
