Thought is what we use to create our reality and our words are our thoughts vocalised. By changing our words we use we can change the world.Take a look at this less than 2 minutes video clip to see what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hzgzim5m7oU

This is a common misconception. Your thoughts have nothing to do with reality. Nothing at all.

Reality exists free of thoughts, desires, wishes or will. What you are referencing is people's individual situations/circumstances.

You are entitled to your opinion but some opinions empower us while others keep us victims. Enjoy your reality even though you take no responsibility for its creation LOL!

          It's NOT my opinion. roll
I don't have to take responsibility for reality, it exists outside of me. I do however, take responsibility for creating the situations and/or circumstances which happen in my life.

          Please do learn the difference.

Everything you say is an opinion.

The situations and/or circumstances you say happen in your life are the reality you experience and since you say you take responsibility for for creating them then you have just admitted that you create your reality!

What is this difference are you telling me to learn when you are contradicting yourself?

So far, since knowing you from the first time we met, this has to be the dumbest thing you've said.
Actions determine situation/circumstance. Unless something is actually created, then reality doesn't change.
Ironic, your first statement is about thoughts altering reality, which is UNTRUE.

When a man of your calibre has to resort to insults to force his opinions on another then I think that is a very sad state of affairs.  Your words reflect on yourself so for you to speak to me in this way tells me a lot about your relationship with yourself.

I believe that there is room for everyone to voice their opinions here without being told that their opinions are dumb.

I am willing to start again with a clean slate and simply ignore all your insults and put downs to date if you are willing to enter into civil communication with me. You don't have to agree with my opinions but if you insult me again I will no longer respond to your posts.

" By changing our words we use we can change the world."
I think I shall reply to this one. Just changed my world ever so slightly. Replies in words may change the way I interpret the world. Unlikely but one can always hope.

I like you willingness to entertain the idea. Nothing to lose!

If you identify with the body then it will be impossible to understand what exactly it is that I am saying with these words. I read your hub http://hubpages.com/hub/Ego_Versus_Identity and I was impressed with what you said. Can you entertain the idea of ego creating the duality you described  and how the illusion is maintained by identifying with the body and the physical evidence for what you term reality/

Changing what we say may have a ripple effect, but it does not affect directly.

    The scenario:-

    (1) Some one is starving, you say kind words, they may feel better in their minds but it does not ease the hunger.

    (2) A drug addict, you say I love you, he feels less alone, but without direct help to combat the drug problem he still suffers

    yet

A lost being, depressed and needs attention, your words can soothe and help heal.

Conclusion, it wont directly change the world but its a start.

Guess that puts all the myriad professions of counseling right out of business.

"Can you entertain the idea of ego creating the duality you described  and how the illusion is maintained by identifying with the body and the physical evidence for what you term reality/"
No. Ego as I have represented it is interpretation through one body. Duality is created through the creation of identities
    which offer multiple interpretive contexts,
and which can and often do conflict with the body like a chain smoker.

I see duality as I and everything outside I. As long as I believe in a reality that my senses report to me then I believe in a reality of duality. If on the other hand I refuse to support the illusion that perception hold up to me then I am deliberately choosing to see a world where I is not separate but connected with everyone and everything in it. In such a world thought is the connective tissue that holds the collective mind that holds it all.

" In such a world thought is the connective tissue that holds the collective mind that holds it all." Thought is interpretation.
Some people and religions believe and I am leaning the same way, that any non-physical spiritual embodiment is thought.
