Getting bonus points in Bejeweled Blitz comes from creating bonus gems. To make special gems appear, you have to make certain kinds of matches. These patterns then cause the bonus gem to appear.

• Bonus Flame Gems - The easiest of all the bonus gems to make. Creating the flaming gem bonus comes from matching 4 gems in a row instead of the usual three gem match. Obviously, you can't match 3 gems and then try and put on a 4th, because the 3 gem match will explode as soon as you make it. That is 3 horizontally that link to 3 vertically, either in the middle of the horizontal 3 or at the end. (Upside down T count too.) • Hypercube Bonus Gems - Hypercube bonus gems are fun! Create one of these powerful bonus gems and you can take out two whole rows of gems all at once. Big points indeed. Best of all, hypercubes have a way of creating high-scoring Bejeweled cascades when all of those replacement gems fall into place. To create a bonus hypercube gem you need to match 5 gems in a row of the same color. To make it happen, you'll need to line up two sets of 2 same colored gems in a row and then move lucky number five in between them. In most games it isn't worth the time it would take to manually set this up, but if you see it coming, make sure and save it if you can.
