Intro

In this guide I will give you guys some tips, and advice to help you be successful when playing Hardcore Domination on Call of Duty Black Ops 2. I will talk about the weapons, score streaks, tactics, and ways that you should go about succeeding on this map. I will also mention some of the better maps for domination, and which you should stay away from.

Before going any further, I will attach a video f me playing Hardcore Domination, and post many other videos now for all my guides, so if you enjoy reading, or like what you see, I would greatly appreciate new Subscribers on my channel, and to check out my other guides here.

What is Hardcore Domination

If you are unfamiliar with hardcore domination as it is a newer game mode recently added to the hardcore game slot on Black Ops 2, then let me further explain. Basically there are 3 locations A,B,C in which your team is essentially playing king of the hill. You need to have your teammates stand on the location until you capture that location, then hold the other team, or prevent them from capturing that location. The first team to reach 200 points by holding onto the most objectives the longest, or the team with the highest score after 10 minutes is awarded the win. This game mode has cut down the amount of kills one will usually get unlike in Capture the Flag in which you could get over 100 kills. Typically on an average game of domination you will get around 20-30 kills if you are actively participating, and will have the option of having a decent amount of success. A better gamer will get 40+ kills on a game, but I still have yet to see a player reach 100 kills only because of the lack of time you have before the game ends. Not that it is impossible, but you will need to average more than 10 kills per minute which can be tough. SO now let me get to the actual guide.

Score Streaks to use

When you are choosing your score streaks i HIGHLY suggest using smaller score streaks. This is coming from someone who used AGR, K9 Unit, and Swarm on Hardcore Capture the Flag, but on Domination I highly suggest using smaller scorestreaks. When I choose my score streaks I tend to use UAV, Lightning Strike and Hellstorm, and will sometimes cycle through them 3 or 4 times before dying, BUT this allows me to know that I will get my score streaks, and use them fully without the time running out. It can be tough if you get your score streaks midway through the second half, OR if you do not fully use them before the game ends. So personally I go for things now that I know you can use before the game ends.

I think using UAV in domination is also key. I have had my team go both routes, and try everyone using NO UAV, and tried a game where EVERYONE used a UAV.. The first game was close, and got kind of stressful towards the end, but the second game, there was not hiding for the enemy and we were able to easily win the game. Using a UAV really does help in this shorter game mode, and helps you easily capture locations, and know where the enemy is going to be coming from.

Once again use smaller score streaks. While it can be more impressive to use higher score streaks, I personally suggest using these on game modes where the game is longer, and where you have the chance of getting significantly more kills from those score streaks. Also be careful because a LOT of hardcore players tend to use ghost, and blind eye. Which while that means they "MAY" be able to hide from a UAV, this also prevents them from getting hit by hunter killers, helicopters, and swarms. So I stick with things I can control, and will make sure they get the most effect when playing this short game mode.

WEAPONS to use

When you are playing Hardcore Domination there are weapons that are more effective and less effective, BUT this is going to fall on what player, and play style you use. If you are a camper then using a sub machine gun is not going to suit you, but at the same time, I don't think you will be very successful in most cases on domination. When we play against a sniper, we don't kill them, we just don't go near their path, and consider it 1 less person playing the game. And if they are playing the game or watching over a location, we will go behind them, kill them, and prevent them rom going back.

So when looking at weapons I personally will use an assault rifle or SMG as will most of my team. I prefer either a silenced M27 as you will see in the video I posted below, or will use a random SMG.. I tend to switch things up a lot with my player since all my weapons are finished in those categories, so when I play I am mainly looking to mess around and have fun ( Hence the Tube )..

I don't personally suggest using a LMG simply because it limits your mobility. You are not going to be able to move around and keep up with most of the players in the game, plus you are a sitting duck for snipers when you are running to locations. At least with a smaller weapon you can attempt to juke, or try to get behind the enemy players to help your team.

As said above, I personally don't suggest sniping, because I don't think it is effective on this game mode, BUT I am not going to go further into this because if you are a sniper, or camper, this is no changing your mind at this point.

Tactics to use.

There are a couple tactics you can use, and this falls on what you are trying to accomplish. IF you are only going for the win, and want to win every game, then the EASIEST tactic is going to be simply capture two flags. The base objective you spawn at, and B location. Once you have these, never pass the B location into their spawn, and you will easily win the game, and you will most likely dominate the other team.

The other strategy falls on a good team, and can easily hurt your team, IF they do not know what they are doing. Essentially your strategy here is going to fall on you, and your team capturing the spawn location. THEN rushing to B to capture that location. Upon capturing B, then you will send a couple teammates into the enemy spawn, and attempt to capture this location. IF done right your player will have 250 points from capturing the first two locations, Plus any kills, and if you get onto the enemy flag attempt to kill some of the enemy, allowing you to get your score streaks very quickly and easily. If the map is small enough, you should be able to hold all 3 locations, and end the game much quicker.

Using the constant rushing strategy will also give you a much higher score per minute. In hardcore domination I have a 396 score per minute and a LOT of gameplay because I constantly rush the other spawn, and I am able to rack up points very quickly and easily.

Just be careful because this is a very easy way to annoy, and aggravate your teammates. If I am playing with my team, I tend to still follow this method, because I think it can be funny listening to my team moan, but when your by yourself it is equally funny. If your ahead, flipping the spawns is not going to be a problem, because you will simply capture the other flag and hopefully still have B. ALTHOUGH by constantly flipping the spawn and taking the other objective, it will force the enemy to focus on capturing the flag in the other spawn, and not going for B. This will make it easier to Hold the MOST important flag which is B. While it is not going to allow free kills to guys running to B from their spawn, it does not give the enemy a chance to set up a strategy to take B.

HOW to come back when losing

When you are losing a game, it can be difficult to come back. Although the easiest method is to take the enemy spawn position. Typically when an enemy has you on lockdown, they are focused on holding B, and do not pay much attention to their spawn location. Therefore run into their spawn, and get on their objective. Most of their team will elave their current position to come protect their spawn. At this moment the rest of your team hops on B, and you stay on that position. Try to take out the enemy as they come at you, and hopefully capture both objectives, but if not, AT LEAST make sure you capture B, while their attention is diverted. I know this sounds easier said than done, BUT if done right, this is a very easy method for you to make a come back, and try to help your team win the game.
