BlizzCon Exclusives - Blizzcon tickets and swag

BlizzCon is an almost annual convention that the company Blizzard Entertainment runs for the fans of their three major games: World of Warcraft, Diablo and Starcraft. The first convention was held in 2005, and then there have been Blizzcons since in 2007 and 2008. The 2009 convention is coming up near the end of August.

Of course, the main event and focus is WoW and over the past couple of years, one of the primary attractions for attending BlizzCon is the exclusive goody bags that the company gives away to attendees, especially since they include cool items that can be used in World of Warcraft.

But if you haven't been to a BlizzCon or you can't get to the next one (because it is sold out!), have no fear. You can still get some of the great Blizzcon merchandise from years past on Ebay. Or even buy your tickets and swag bag for this year's convention.

BlizzCon 2009 Goodie Bags & Tickets

BlizzCon 2009 was held at the Anaheim Convention Center on August 21st and 22nd. It is completely sold out and both times tickets went on sale they sold out within minutes. So now the only place to get tickets for BlizzCon is either from ticket vendors or from other fans on Ebay.

If you buy your BlizzCon tickets on Ebay, your purchase should include everything. Make sure you get the goody bag as well as your tickets.

And seriously, make sure that the seller has a great Ebay reputation. You will be relying on that person to go and collect the ticket and swag bag and then meet you someplace in Anaheim to trade off with you, so be sure you only bid on Ebay listings run by users who have a reputation for honesty.

BlizzCon 2008 Swag

Blizzcon 2008's goody bag is still a hot item, primarly for the card for the Polar Bear mount for World of Warcraft and the Starcraft beta key. Half of the 2008 goodie bags had an inflatable Frostmourne Sword and the other half had an inflatable Divine Shield Ball.

That's not all though. Nope, the Blizzcon Swag bags are known for being impressively filled with stuff! There's also a Zerg Creep, an Orc Mask, a Blizzcon keychain, Alliance or Horde pendants, a Toykopop Sketchbook, a Heroes of Azeroth starter deck for the TCG, a Wrath of the Lich King pen, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

BlizzCon Diablo Exclusive Merchandise

Diablo exclusives at BlizzCon aren't exactly thick on the ground, but there are a few items worth grabbing.

In 2008, Blizzcon issued a series of stress balls for Diablo 3. There's a blue mana stress ball and a red health stress ball.

In addition to the stress balls, there was also an exclusive Diablo 3 sinamints tin and a t-shirt. And that's pretty much it!

BlizzCon Starcraft Merchandise Exclusives

Starcraft fares a bit better on the BlizzCon merchandise front. There have been quite a few Starcraft items exclusive to BlizzCon. The biggie is the Starcraft 2 beta key that was given away at the 2008 Blizzcon.

This came in the form of a card that included two keys -- one for a World of Warcraft polar bear mount and the other for the Starcraft 2 beta. Look for an unscratched card. If you don't care about the Polar Bear, you can save a few bucks if the Polar Bear key has been used, but the Starcraft key is still available.

Some of the other cool Starcraft Blizzcon exclusives include a board game, a puzzle, a T-shirt and wrist bands. Umm yeah, wrist bands. There's also a Starcraft Zerg creep toy. Cute!

BlizzCon 2007 Murloc Suit Card

Several of the items from Blizzcon 2007 are still hot items on Ebay, especially for World of Warcraft gamers.

The hottest item is the murloc suit card, This gives you a code to have your toon wear a murloc suit in the game. It's a bit of fun that everyone wants so two years later, this is still a hot item.

The other collectible from Blizzcon 2007 that everyone would like to get their hands on is the Murloc Plush toy. It's a baby Murloc all in blue and It is so ridiculously cute that I want to buy a boatload of them and pile them up around my house. But somehow I resist the urge :)
