A Brain Teaser a week - Puzzle 1

Hi all,

I'm going to add a brain teaser every week starting with this one I saw on The Crystal Maze many years ago. By the way, if you've never heard of The Crystal Maze then check out YouTube, it was a wonderful game that should be brought back.

The idea of this puzzle is to move just 3 matches creating 3 squares the same size instead of 4 squares the same size like it is now. I recommend you get some matches and do it on a table instead of trying to do it in your mind, you could get frustrated.

You can't have any matches that are not part of a whole square either.

I struggled on this one for about half an hour until I finally solved it. And when I did I couldn't believe how easy it was and felt a little dumb for not solving it quicker. Still, it was a lot of fun trying to solve it and that's what makes a good puzzle after all.

I have made a puzzle pack with 57 such puzzles in it that I made for my fun pub quiz nights. My quiz teams look forward to my brain teaser every week. You can download my puzzle pack here: Puzzles and Games

You will find the solution to this puzzle in the next Brain Teaser 2. If you want to be notified when I've posted more puzzles then subscribe to my rss feed or even better follow me.
