Buy Lego Atlantis

Lego Atlantis was one of the hotly anticipated new Lego themes to be released in 2010. The Lego Atlantis Range revolves around a team of underwater explorers searching for the sunken city of Atantis and the sets involve models of futuristic submarines, giant sea monsters as well as ancient ruin sites. The theme also features several new minifigures as well as a new breathing apparatus and other equipment.

The Atlantis range reprises several elements from earlier underwater Lego ranges but combines them with a new distinctive look and a new exciting setting and introduces more futuristic vehicles. The Lego Atlantis range can be seen as an updated version of Aqua Raiders with different-colored and more futuristic submarines, new humanoid villains and a more elaborate back story with named characters and a more specific setting.

The new characters specific to this new Atlantis range are Captain Ace Speedman , Bobby Buoy, Axel Storm, Lance Spears, Dr Jeff Fisher and Professor Sam Rhodes.

There are quite a few Lego Atlantis sets that can be ordered through Amazon and through Ebay and there are now lots of the sets in this range available on Ebay, both new and lightly used and they are at extremely reasonable prices.

This hub concentrates on the first group of sets released in January 2010, if you are interested in information about the second group of sets released in June 2010 please see my Buy Lego Atlantis Part 2 Hub

In the middle of the vehicle is a one-man cockpit with a transparent neon-green canopy. Behind it are two searchlights and a small antenna tower with navigation lights and two flickfire missiles. The cockpit contains just a single control stick and is technically not watertight, since their are large gaps at the bottom that lead directly outside. The Scavenger was first built by Dr. Jeff Fisher, however was later rebuilt by Captain Ace Speedman, using bricks found in the docking bay of the Neptune

Leaving no coral-covered rock unturned, the 3-wheeled Seabed Scavenger rolls along the ocean floor in search of clues to the location of Atlantis. Lance Spears locates the fabled green treasure key, guarded by a fierce Manta Warrior and even with the deep-sea vehicle’s grab claw, spinning saw and flick-firing torpedoes may be no match for this foe.

The pods can be fully rotated along the ship's pitch axis. On each pylon that connects a pod to the main hull is a flick-fire missile. The main hull has four head lights at the front and two horizontal rudders behind them. At the top, protected by a neon-green canopy, is the cockpit, which contains just a small control panel. Behind the cockpit is a small antenna tower with navigation lights. At the bottom of the vessel is a sliding mechanism that is used to turn the large propellers on the pods. Under the very aft of the sub is a stern thruster.

The Turbo Sub was built by Professor Sam Rhodes, using bricks found in the docking bay of the Neptune. It was designed as fast and agile vessel for exploration and discovery missions. Since the majority of the ship's structure is devoted to the propulsion system, it has only enough space for one person despite its rather large size.

Deep at the bottom of the ocean, the yellow Atlantis Treasure Key is guarded by a ferocious Shark Warrior. Recover it using the Typhoon Turbo Sub, when the fight gets tough, its powerful high-speed turbine engines flip around to reveal a key-grabbing claw and hidden torpedo launcher.

Inside are traps, treasures and mighty guardians, including an octopus prison cage, a fearsome Squid Warrior, and a monstrous giant squid with flailing tentacles and massive snapping jaws.
