LEGO City Farms is a sub theme of the much larger Lego City Theme which incorporated a small number of sets based around farmyard activities and equipment. The Farm sub theme began in 2009 and is still continuing into 2011.

The sets in this sub-theme varied from big sets with lots of pieces such as the Farm or the Pig Farm to the small impulse sets such as the Farmer with just a small number of pieces. This sub theme meant that Lego City expanded even further.

The Lego City Farmer and Tractor Set was a small promotional set released in 2009 that contains a tractor along with a minifigure of a Farmer. This set contains 33 pieces.

This set came in a Polybag and was also given away with the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror. In the US this was given free in Lego Stores with a $50 purchase.

The Lego City Tractor Set was a small set released in 2009 although bigger than the promotional one above that contains a big red harvest tractor along with a minifigure of a Farmer. This set contains 78 pieces.

This Tractor was a more substantial build than the promotional one and you could lift the cab roof and sit the farmer at the wheel of the tractor.

The busy farmer drives his rugged tractor through the fields outside Lego City, getting them ready for the next planting. The city will have a good crop this year.

The Lego City 4WD with Horse Trailer Set was released in 2009 and features a Land Rover Vehicle, a Horse Trailer and a Horse Jumping Rail, along with 2 minifigures of a Farmer and Horse Rider and of course a Horse. This set contains 176 pieces.

The Land Rover is a nice shiny black 4 Wheel Drive that has a shiny white Horse Trailer hooked onto the back. The back of the Horse Trailer drops down so that you can put the Horse inside. It's another beautiful day in Lego City and it's time to load your favorite horse into the trailer, hitch the trailer to the powerful 4WD and off you go.

The Lego City Combine Harvester Set was released in 2009 and features a large green combine harvester with rotating threshing drum, along with a minifigures of a Farmer. This set contains 360 pieces.

The Combine Harvester is a huge working model of the coolest piece of Farm Machinery. You can lift cab and place farmer behind the wheel.

Climb into the cab of the combine harvester and start harvesting, threshing and baling grain in the fields outside Lego City. With its huge rotating threshing drum, this vehicle can handle any crop on the farm.

The Lego City Pig Farm and Tractor Set was released in 2010 and contains a pigpen and a tractor with trailer. Also included in the set are 2 minifigures of a male farmer and a female farmer, as well as four Pigs. This set contains 256 pieces.

The pig pen has a small open shed, a fence and a water pump with a trough as well as two food troughs filled with carrots. The trailer has dropdown sides and a tilting loading ramp.

Also included in the set are 3 minifigures of two male farmers, a female farmer, as well as two Cows, a Dog, the obligatory Farm Cat and even a Mouse. This set contains 609 pieces.

With this Farm Set you can build a barn, a cow shed, a grain silo, a ride on mower and a tractor with a tilting wagon. You can lift the roof panels on the barn, empty the grain silo or use the winch and hook to move the hay bales or tilt the wagon, in fact do all those farmyard jobs. But I never really realised that people farmed Mice.
