Sesame Street has celebrated its 40th birthday and as someone who has enjoyed Sesame Street as a little tot I can't imagine how I would have been without it. I loved looking forward to Sesame Street each day; I liked how Burt and Ernie argued with each other because even when they did argue they still ended up as friends. When I was little I thought Big Bird was so huge but so nice and friendly. I even liked Oscar the Grouch, even though he was mean to people, he can be so funny! And you knew he really wasn't mean. Sesame Street was the one street in a big city where everybody was helpful to everybody and it was safe. It was the place where the Count can count as much as he wants and bring on the thunder and lightning but it wasn't scary. It was the place where you can play games to learn words that start with the nice letter W and to find out what words mean. Sesame Street was where all sorts of characters were different but it was okay. Every generation discovers how lovely Sesame Street, which is why when I see the dolls, I can see why the children love them. These dolls remind them to be good friends, to be considerate to each other, to like counting, to play games, to be tolerant. I think if the whole world grew up watching Sesame Street, it would be a friendly place indeed.
Gund has now made some beautiful, soft, huggable plush dolls for your child to play with. And since the doll is made by Gund, you know these toys are well made and will be around for a long time.
