DC Universe Online Ice Power

Ice power users deal in freezing temperatures, and have the ability to lock down their foes with multiple ice attacks. This type of power is also a common tanking role, and they achieve this through either of the following paths: Cryogenics & Storms.

Tanking - Similar to Fire Power, Ice Power tanks have the following abilities. Firstly all the damage you cause will be penalized by 20%. But on the flip-side, using super powers increases your total health by 60% and healing received by 80%. Using Ignition will also make you a target for enemies causing them to attack you rather then your allies. Finally, you gain +3 perception, improving your chance of detecting stealth using enemies.

PVP – You gain a special advantage versus Gadget and Mental power users. You are immune to their debuffing effects and highly resistant to their controls. Some abilities will even provide you (and your allies) with total immunity to Controller effects. Attacking them may even inspire ‘Confidence’ within you, which for a short period of time will increase your damage to 55%.

Cryogenics

Ice forms around you and enemy attacks don't seem to land. By using your powers to create defenses for yourself, you are a master of mitigating damage. When the occasional attack does strike true, the cold is passed on to your attacker, often freezing them in their tracks.

Tier 1

Cold Snap
Plummets your body temperature, increasing your resistance to control effects, damaging nearby enemies, and reflecting additional damage back at your attackers when they strike you
[Power Interactions] Grants Chill Effect; Gaining five consecutive Chill Effects activates Ice Armour
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)

Tier 2

Snow Ball
Heaves a sizable ice chunk at enemies, damaging and knocking them down
[Power Interactions] Rooted enemies take double damage; after three or more Chill Effects the snowball will explode and damage all enemies in the area
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)

Frost Snipe
Pierces enemies with a lightning blast of freezing energy
[Power Interactions] While imbued with Chill Effects targeted enemies may become rooted, while rooted enemies may be encased
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)

Tier 3

Hybernation
[Usable While Controlled]
[50% Supercharge Cost]
For a short time, creates a protective ice block that quickly heals you while deflecting damage

Ice Bash
[Bashes your enemies with ice
[Power Interactions] Grants Chill Effect; gaining five consecutive Chill Effects activates Ice Armour
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 40% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Cold Snap

Freeze Ray
[50% Supercharge Cost]
Broadcasts an absolute-zero beam that encases and causes extreme damage to an enemy

Tier 4

Frost Blast
[Vulnerable to Interrupt]
Stuns, damages, and knocks down enemies with a torrent of jagged ice shards
[Power Interactions]
Rooted, Burning, Frostbitten, and Electrified enemies take additional damage
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 45% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Snow Ball

Reflection
[Usable While Controlled]
Directs damage from the next three attacks back to your attacker
[Power Interactions] Grants Chill Effect; gaining five consecutive Chill Effects activates Ice Armour
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 45% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Ice Bash

Ice Boulder
Creates a huge, throwable, ice chunk
[Power Interactions] Chilled enemies may become rooted, while rooted enemies may be encased
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 45% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Frost Snipe

Tier 5

Impaling Ice
Heavily damages and knocks down enemies with a vicious shard of ice, with enemies at 35% health or below taking double damage
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 60% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Frost Blast

Ice Elemental
[Usable While Controlled]
[100% Supercharge Cost]
Transforms you into an embodiment of Ice Power, greatly enhancing role-specific stats, providing new weapon combos, and rendering you immune to most Control powers
Prerequisite: Reflection

Winter Ward
Liberates you and your group mates from control effects, increases your defence and toughness, and damages attacking enemies
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 50% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Ice Boulder

Storms

Icy winds dance at your command, allowing you to push and pull enemies around the battlefield. No one can escape your arctic blasts, which allows you to control the direction of the fight.

Inescapable Storm
Engulfs an enemy and others nearby, dragging them toward you
[Power Interactions] Inflicts Frostbite to make enemies vulnerable to freezing effects
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)

Tier 2

Glacier Flash
[Vulnerable to Interrupt]
Fires a beam of intense cold at an enemy
[Power Interactions] Enemies with Frostbite may be rooted in place or encased
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)

Arctic Gust
[Vulnerable to Interrupt]
Launches a sustained cone of frigid air to damage enemies
[Power Interactions] Enemies with Frostbite may be rooted in place or encased
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 35% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Inescapable Storm

Freeze Wave
Blasts out freezing air to knock down enemies

Tier 3

Blizzard
[100% Supercharge Cost]
Stuns and encases enemies in a wide-spread icy storm that inflicts extreme damage

Bitter Winds
[Vulnerable to Interrupt]
Scours enemies with a whirling aura of wind and ice
[Power Interactions] Frostbitten enemies are vulnerable to freezing effects
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 40% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Arctic Gust

Deep Freeze
[25% Supercharge Cost]
Encases an enemy in a block of ice

Tier 4

Avalanche
[Vulnerable to Interrupt]
Barrages enemies with an onslaught of ice and snow
[Power Interactions] Enemies with frostbite may be encased by a determined assault
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 60% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Glacier Flash

Shatter Restraints
[Usable While Controlled]
Increases Defence and bestows immunity against control effects
[Tank Role] Provides immunity to up to three team-mates
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 45% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Freeze Wave

Tier 5

Resonating Gale
Summons a blast of destructive tornado-strength winds
[Power Interactions] Enemies Encased by Ice, Nature, Mental or Gadgets take heavy damage
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 50% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Avalanche

Wintry Tempest
[Vulnerable to Interrupt]
Summons a fierce localized storm to damage enemies
[Power Interactions] Inflicts Frostbite to make enemies vulnerable to freezing effects
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 60% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
Prerequisite: Bitter Winds

Snow Devil
[Vulnerable to Interrupt]
Summons a chaotic, melee-resistant snow devil to assault enemies and toss them in the air
[Power Interactions] Inflicts Frostbite to make enemies vulnerable to freezing effects
[Damage Role] Increases all damage by 50% until the hit counter resets (at least five seconds)
