Five New Video Games You Should Play: September 2011

Dead Island

This game had one of the most viral video game teaser trailer ever earlier this summer with THIS. This Shooter has RPG elements and is all about decimating the perfect enemy; zombies. On the island of Bonoi your vacation is interrupted by a zombie outbreak. It is unclear if the rest of the world has been affected or if help will ever come. Luckily you and four other survivors are immune and must fight your way through the zombie swarm in order to get off the island and figure out what happened. This game supports drop in play for up to four people and will be available for XBOX 360 and PS3 on September 6th. This game has been the talk of the town for some time now and it's now time to get our hands on it.

X-Men Destiny

I have been looking into this game for quite a long time. I am a rabid X-Men fan and the thought of a true Action/RPG experience in this universe could be fantastic, or a complete failure. We don't know much about this game yet except that you have the choice of three different mutants. From their you choose what your base mutant power is and expand upon this while leveling up. Available for the PS3, XBOX 360, Wii and DS on September 27th, X-Men Destiny is sure to please fans and casual gamers alike.

Resistance 3

The Resistance series may be coming to a close, but it is going out with a bang. The graphics have me biting at the bit for it's release on September 6th. The cinematics look absolutely stunning in the trailers and the game play isn't too shabby either. Resistance is a shooter with an emphasis on gunplay and acceptability with a wheel menu for quick changes between guns. Resistance 3 is available exclusively on the PS3 and releases on September 6th.

Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny

Rune Factory is a fun and light JRPG series. The latest in the series Tides of Destiny take place on an island where two friends souls are fused into a single body. The game follows their journey in trying to get their lives and island back to normal with the help of a huge golem. This is the kind of game you could lose yourself in for weeks which is my favorite thing about RPGs. Tides of Destiny will be released on September 27th for PS3 and Wii.

ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection

I am really looking forward to this set. Shadow of the Colossus is one of the games that really made me fall in love with the industry. The gameplay of Colossus pushes aside the in-between of boss battles and gives you 12 meaty good bosses that will kick your ass. I never got to play ICO the first time around and I look forward to finally getting my hands on it. The real seller of this set is the updated graphics which pair well with the unique art style of the two games. The ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection releases on September 27th exclusively for the PS3.

Which of these games are you most looking forward to playing?
