Virtual Families

This game is developed by Last Day of Work. Released in April 2009, this game allows you to create a virtual character that can find their careers, meet new friends and new lovers. You can also start a family and make money.

The game starts of with you adopting a virtual person. Each of them has their own pet peeves and their different likes and dislikes. You can also choose their appearance, profession and stuff. You have the freedom to choose how you want the virtual character to go, such as whether you want your family to have kids.

Kudos 2

Kudos 2 is developed by Positech Games. You get to control a virtual character from age 20 to 30. They have a standard calendar that accounts for how time goes by in the game. There is only 7 days each month instead of the standard 30 days.

The main thing that you do in this game is that you get to control the character's social activities. The decisions and actions you take will decide how happy your character is. You have to deal with the social interactions with friends and they can dump you anytime if you are not careful.

IMVU

IMVU is a fun game like The Sims. What is unique about IMVU is that it is a chatroom and a virtual world combined together. The game is revolved around social interactions and less on the game play itself. You can also listen to music and also videos through the IMVU client. IMVU has its own economy, where players can actually sell their own custom made items. The currency system is IMVU credits. These credits can be used to buy fashion pieces such as clothes and accessories for your character to customize them.

SocioTown

SocioTown is a 3D virtual world game. You can make friends in this game, whether it is close friends or acquaintances. The more time you spend with friends, the stronger your bond becomes. You can also chat with their friends and dots are connected as their Social Network increases. The goal of the game is to become socially popular and have many friends with strong friendship links. If you are into the just only the socializing part, this game is definitely for you.

Slight Deviation from The Sims

The 4 games that I am introducing below will have more focus on building rather than social interactions. If you enjoy the building side of the game, this could be for you.

The Movies

This one is a little different from the Sims as you do not control a character. You are now the director of a movie. You get to run your own movie studio. The game focuses on 3 things. You get to design your own studio, make movies and turn actors into movie stars. The main thing you have to pay attention to is the directors and actors. You will have to make sure you do not pay them too little or they become unhappy sobs that could ruin your rating.

Roller Coaster Tycoon Series

Roller Coaster Tycoon takes a slight diversion from social interactions into building focused and customer satisfaction. You get to build an exciting theme park for visitors and decorate your park to become the best around the neighborhood. Since not all guests enjoy exciting and thrilling rides, you will have to build rids and roller coasters to suit different guests. You have the freedom to build your park anyway you want. Guests can cause trouble in your park, puking or destroying bins or benches if there is no security. Your job is to make sure you keep your park in tip top condition.

There are 4 Roller Coaster Tycoon series so far. You just have to choose which series you like the best.

Farmville 2

This is the newest farm related game from Zynga. You are a farmer and your job is to build the best farm the game has to offer. You can decorate your farm, milk goats, feed chickens, plant and harvest crops, make ingredients and food from the plants that harvested. You can also invite friends to play as well. You can visit other players to help them harvest their crops. While this game focuses more on building and harvesting, they have included enough social interaction for me to include this in the list.

Dragon City

Dragon City is a game that focuses on breeding dragons. It has a similar feel to Pokemon. You get to build different habitats for your dragons to live in. There are 9 different elements that affect the dragons. Each element has its own strength and weaknesses. Some elements such as the Fire and Terra dragons earn more gold than Water. However, their habitats has limited amount of gold you can earn. You can also feed your dragons to become stronger and use them to challenge other player's dragons. Inviting and visiting your friends Dragon City also gives you some gold and experience. There are different types of dragons you can breed, making it an absolutely fascinating game.
