Dual wielding Glass Weapons in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

This page serves as a Glass Weapon crafting guide for the video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, covering all the various offensive equipment that a character who has unlocked the Glass Smithing group can create.

Within this guide are statistics of the base damage of each weapon, the ingredients needed to create them along with the potential profit that can be made in Septums from turning the base materials into each piece of weaponry.

All Glass Weapons, like the Glass Armor pieces, are crafted through the forging of Refined Malachite and Refined Moonstone ingots with the use of the Anvil or Forge items found throughout the game world. In order to upgrade the quality of these items, you require a single piece of the Malachite for each upgrade and the use of a Grindstone object. These materials are relatively uncommon but can be found in large quantities from certain mines or areas.

Glass Battleaxe

2 Handed Melee Weapon

The Glass Battleaxe is made of a Moonstone grip and hilt with a one sided, massive glass blade perfect for cleaving your enemies in two. Portions cut into the top and bottom of the blade give it a feathered edge. Some additional glass inlays also decorate the bottom and top of the grip and some inlays of the hilt.

Glass Bow

Glass Bow

2 Handed Ranged Weapon

Considering how the Glass Bow takes up 2 bars of Malachite versus one Moonstone ingot, it is surprisingly lacking of glass portions in it's visual appearance, save for some small patterned strips in the limbs of the bow itself. As many of the other glass items do, the bow looks similar to the Elven Bow, albeit upgraded in both damage and style.

Glass Dagger

1 Handed Melee Weapon

The Glass Dagger consists of a golden metal hilt and handle that hols a feathered piece of hardened glass to serve as it's blade. As is usual of the daggers, this weapon is produced at a lost, making it the lowest profit of all the Glass Weapons that can be crafted.

Glass Greatsword

Glass Greatsword

2 Handed Melee Weapon

Taking a step further from the sword and dagger, the Glass Greatsword takes the same feathered blade and extends it even further, adding a middle section which juts out from the sides. Within the blade of the sword itself seems to be the pattern of an eye, etched right into the Malachite. The hilt and handle looks pretty much the same as the smaller sword weapons other than being significantly larger.

Glass Mace
Glass Mace

Glass Mace

2 Handed Melee Weapon

The Glass Mace takes 4 of the curved blades that are used on both of the glass axes, flips them upside down and arranges them with 90 degree angles between each, giving it an X shaped look when viewed from the top down. One of the few mace type weapons which uses bladed edges to cause damage versus a blunt weighted striking surface.

Glass Sword

1 Handed Melee Weapon

The Glass Sword takes an appearance that gives it look sitting exactly between the dagger and greatsword. Almost as though the dagger was squeezed at the base of the blade to make it longer, the sword possess the same feathered tip with a proportionately skinnier base, notched 2/3of the way up along the center.

Glass War Axe
Glass War Axe

Glass War Axe

1 Handed Melee Weapon

Essentially a smaller battleaxe with the blade portion mirrored, the Glass War Axe takes a visual appearance putting itself between the larger axe and the Glass Mace where its top flipped over. Better for random flailing in both directions, but not as foolproof damage causing as the mace were to be in the hands of a drunken and stumbling Dragonborn, not that it is really an issue.

Glass Warhammer
Glass Warhammer

Glass Warhammer

2 Handed Melee Weapon

Definitely the most vicious looking glass weapon in my personal opinion, the Glass Warhammer is visually composed of mostly moonstone except for a few decorations akin to the other weapons and the two killing ends of the head. As deadly as the spiked back end looks like it could be, the larger smashing end is made of a radial pattern of glass razored blades that form a circular striking point of certain death. Gives it somewhat of a dark and evil look, even with the bright almost cheery color of it's construction materials.

  • Weight: 29
  • Gold Value: 985
  • Gold per pound: 33.97
