How to become a werewolf (Skyrim).

So, you are wondering how to become a werewolf in Skyrim? This article is designed to walk you through the process of becoming a werewolf in Skyrim.

The first time you come in contact with the companions will be west of Honeybrew Meadery, in which you see a giant attacking three of the companions, amongst them Aela the hunteress. If you are able to help them slay the giant you will get kudos point, especially with Aela who says she will put in a good word for you with the leaders of the companions, the circle. The circle is the name for the leaders of the companions guild.

When you have reached Whiterun, you can find the house of Jorrvaskr, the place where the companions live. Kodlak Whitemane is the main leader of the companions, even though themselves claim they do not have one. Walk into the house and introduce yourselves to the clan; the different characters will test you, starting with trivial tasks, such as sharpening their swords, but once you get their trust and kinship they will let you become a companion apprentice.

You proceed in this way, doing missions for the companions, their respect gradually rising as they see what powers you possess, until one day Skjor and Aela the hunteress invites you to partake in a bloodrite ritual in the Underforge (located hidden under the Skyforge). The mission is called The Silver Hand, and it is here you choose to become a werewolf or not, thus ascending into the highest leadership of the companions, the circle.

Once you have become a werewolf, you can access the effects option in the magic options, and choosing to transform into a werewolf when you see fit. You may feed of humans and animals when in the werewolf form to become stronger as a werewolf.

It's pretty disappointing that becoming a member of the Circle happens so early in the Companions questline (nope, not bothered if that spoilt it for you). It barely has any work to it, unlike reaching the highest rank of the Thieves' Guild in this game, etc.

Oh, and a note on marriage (which you haven't included much in your Hubs) - don't you need to talk to one of the Priests in Riften, so you can get the people asking if you're single? Only that I've been wearing the Amulet of Mara, and taking quests from people who later said, "Hey, I'm game if you're game", etc (which happened only after seeing the Priest).

Thanks JGG! Appreciate the feedback, and yes indeed, you need to see the priests in Riften before starting the "Hey, I'm game if you're game"-game with your chosen one. Agree tbat it is way too easy to reach the top ranks within the companions guild.

Don't the Werewolves look like the one in the Van Helsing movies? It was cool turning into a werewolf and slashing a few of the locals in Whiterun!
