How to win on head to head in Madden 12, The plays that will win you games.

Have you been playing Madden 12, and have been getting beat, or are finding the competition relatively hard. Well i'm gonna teach you a few plays that will get you some good yardage, and will allow you to push for the gold, and win those important games. These plays will not help you cheat, will not involve difficult plays, and will be able to be used by any team, or any player. Please note that this will not apply to the "ultimate team" game mode, but will mostly apply to head to head games, against other players online, and will not be very affective when playing the computer.

Also upon request I have created a Twitter account for Johnrr's Hubs which can be found here

The strategy

Madden did a good job getting this game ready , especially since they weren't sure if the lock out was going to happen. But one thing that as of now seems to be making easy for certain pass plays. Please keep in mind that this does not mean that Hail Mary's are going to work or anything like that.

So anyway, When you are on offense instead go to the conventional play calling, then choose by play type, then go to shotgun pass. Shotgun pass will allow you to take a few steps back, hold a better pocket, and have more time to let a receiver get open. The next move will be to cycle through the plays until you find a player starting either on the left or the right, then making his way across the field diagonally. The play itself is very hard for a defender to cover because he will be behind the player expecting him to run down the field, and a bullet pass( holding the button which the player is in instead of just pressing and letting go) will go to him without a defender in front of him. Now if you do this right, you should be getting ready to throw it about 1 or 2 seconds after the ball is hiked, and he should be around the middle of the field. Another thing you'll notice is when you throw it, if you lead the player a little bit, he will gain a little spring boost and it will push him to catch the ball. As i said before this play is extremely hard to cover, and even if the defense puts a player in the middle of the field you should still be able to easily get the ball to him. Also this will usually get you between 7-15 yards on the pass, not counting any running you do after you get the ball. So two of this play will always get you the first down.

Keep in mind doing the exact same play will eventually get the defense noticing it, and double covering a certain player, so i advise that you either flip the play to run opposite direction, or you can find more than 1 play in shotgun formation that will run across the middle. Also note that shotgun formation will give you the time needed even when a blitz occurs. Any other mode will leave you vulnerable and possibly sacked, so i really advise doing shotgun formation.

As far as defense goes, when you are here, you should be doing blitz zones. This defense structure will prevent the offense from having a lot of time to decide on your play, possibly get a sack, and still have coverage on the field to maybe a get pick, or at least stop it if a pass can be caught. Overall this strategy should allow you to win games, and give you a slight edge on the competition.

I will be continuing to compete on madden until the new Call of Duty, and Battlefield, and Nba come out, so as i learn new strategies, i will be sure to add them, also feel free to comment or message me if you have questions and i will help out best i can. I will have a guide on the way about ultimate team play, to try to aid you on that as i have found some strategies out, but am ironing them out and when they are completed i will write a guide on them, this will probably happen within the next few days.

The player that you would throw to in this case would be "LB" , and you wuold throw it as he is mid field

Dropping a d-lineman into spy deters the cross. If you can chip the receiver before five yards, he'll be rendered ineffective.

Based on your description, a 4-2-5 Nickel (Cover 2) with inside technique on the CB's will be the most effective option.

I would discourage you from promoting "money plays", people will not play someone who uses the same play over and over.

well to be honest, you only have to get the play to work once, then just rush the line, and change the routes of you players, or have maybe your fullback/halfback run that route, or a different wide receiver run opposite ways. If you can catch any player off guard with this once, they try to audible, but there is not way to stop it once its started.

I do see what your saying however after a while the defense will figure it out running the ball is very effective on first down bringing all defenders up then throwing right over the top of the blitzing line backers

Well to be honest, the play works best if you catch them off guard once, and then just keep rushing the play, and moving the routes of each player. Depending on your team, after this play, move Y player, and LB player (xbox) either straight down the field or slants and your all set.

Well i need to know what your playing.. If you're defense is still getting pics then don't dfo anything to taht, as far as offense goes, if your playing ultimate team, stick to running and passing, and instead of looking at getting a touchdown, do small plays in order to get to the first down. Remember 10 first down will equal a touchdown, you don't need 3 30 yard passes.

I'm playing madden today with a Co worker I've never seen him play. I'm going to use Dallas. He will use San Francisco. What a winning strategy for me

I mean, i assume you've already played, if not, then you should run my play, and see if it works, if it does just keep running varients of it, and he won't be able to stop it.

I have a guy that I play against not online. I can shut him down most of the time. But he will do about 3-4 times that hail mary and he will beat me 50% of the time. What defense will stop this from happening so much? Thanks

If you are trying to prevent the Hail Mary it is simple. First go to coverage, and find either 3 man deep, or deep coverage. Then the play you want to do is "Prevent" or "3 Deep". Then once you both choose your play and you guys are at the line, you want to use the D-pad to push your linemen, and defensive players back into a pass play structure. This will shut down the hail mary 99% of the time.

Mix it up. That's all you can do. Be smart about it. My favorite play to run if you can catch them off guard is screens because majority of the time you will gain five to ten yards. Quick routes run slants with all receivers. Call a lot of hot routes. Find the best option and call a hot route to a slant and ninety percent of the time you will be successful. Run the ball on first downs and if they aren't running a blitz package call play action. Wildcat often works great if you can learn how to use it. It takes time be patient and let plays develop. When your in the red zone guarantee yourself a field goal at minimum. A touch down is great but points will help. But like i said hot routes are the best way to move up the field. Slants being the number one option. Quick passes will never do you wrong.

I have a GREAT running play and it drives my friends nuts. I think the ravens are the best at it but the cowboys are good as well. Basicaly to get this play to work right, you need a running back that is fast and can run between the tackles. Adrian Peterson, ray rice, Arian foster, and demarco Murray are good for this play. Ok so to the play. I discovered this in accident. First, you need to set your offensive audibles to two of the plays are he dive and MTN zone weak. The play of select first is QB neal.....yes I said QB neal. Audible as fast as you can to HB dive or mtn zone weak. Just run the play and see what happens. I've gotten 250 plus rushing yards online with ray rice. I think the ravens are the best at it. It's pretty hard to stop....don't know why. Just is.

@the random person whos comment i deleted.. HAHAHA the benefits of being able to delete comments. Also this isn't youtube, so feel free to not just throw things like that out there. Obviously you did not read my guide thoroughly, and need help or you wouldn't have stumbled here anyways. IF you were paying attention. I said that this is a flaw in the game itself, and the play is very difficult to cover. Also if you do get away with it on first down, you rush the line, and change routes of some players, and it will continune to work. Only way it fails is if they set up against it in the play choosing, and then you simply do a different play for a couple downs. BUT overall this play will not be easy to cover, and while you think it is, and looks easy enough, let me reassure you it was a mistake in the programming that this play is hard to cover, and if played right (not by someone like you) but by someone who has basic football knowledge they will continue to find open players. Thanks for commenting, but feel free not to next time.

P.S. I am probably older than you, and based on your comment, I am pretty sure I am. Thanks for visiting :)
